The image we see is from the planet around 10,000 years ago. No one knows what it looks like now. For all we could know, spongebob could be living there.

Or in other words, 1/17379 the speed of light. So, to travel 20 light years at the fastest recorded speed of a probe in interstellar travel, you're looking at about 35,000 years. No idea where you guys are getting the 200 year number...

When they talk about retrieving data from the exoplanet, they are speaking in terms of observation from a telescope. Not a probe.

Even though this planet is right in the habitable zone, I doubt there'd be life on it, well INTELLIGENT life (there many be a few organisms).
