WoW Authentication Keys

Entering your WoW keys do you need all the expansions on your battle net account to play them and is there any way to get around the 1 key per account rule? Because I've already got an account on 1 key and I don't have any more keys for my other account.

 

Nope, if you only have the WoW keys you can still play, but you won't be able to level past 60, or access any BC/WotLK zones.

Infact I don't know if that second part is true.

 

2nd part is true my brother ninja'd my keys and used on his account that we used to share but now he has put an authenticator on it (Need to type in the numbers of a program that generates new numbers every minute.) Getting the numbers off him take to much time, since he lives miles away from me. So I decided to start up a new account.

Since I've already tried this, I'll answer my own question. No, you need all expansions and no, you can't use the same key twice.

 

You can play if you don't have BC/WotLK on your account though.

 

Yeah but only to lvl 60 and can't unlock all classes.

 

Vanilla WoW
Classes: All classes except DK.
Races: All races except Blood elf and Draenei.
Area's: Eastern Kingdom's & Kalimdor.

Burning Crusade:
Classes: All classes except DK.
Races: All race's now including Blood elf and Draenei
Area's: Outland's unlocked.

Wrath of the Lich King:
Classes: All classes including DK.
Races: All Races.
Area's All area's including Northrend.

Not really sure if this was what you were confused about but you do need all the key's in order if you want to play Wrath of the Lich King.

 

Without Draenei/BE you also don't have access to Paladin/Shaman as horde/ally respectively
