2 scammer report sections

1. Scams & other things.

2. Ban evading/imposter email reports.

the second section would be useful as sectionals can go in there and deal with reports.

1st would be mainly for globals, and those experienced in handling actual scam reports.

A ban evade report is mostly just a same email/ip situation so it's easy for any sectional to do.

The reason for seperation into 2 sections is so that sectional mods can go into that section and handle all the reports instead of reading the title of each report (sometimes even opening the report) in the main section to see if they can deal with it or not.

And sometimes the scammer section can be upto 5 pages long which would take some time.

Also this would give a chance for sectionals to step up their game and show they their activity and allow the global mods to do less reports

 

Hmm... Seems like an alright suggestion, but on the other hand not really needed. The report a scammer seems to be doing fine without having sections for different offenses.

 

A scammer is a scammer, why should they get 2 sections?

keep it one section so this way The mods dont have to keep switching from section to section

Scamming and evading are to different but rather similar category's, although it'd make no sense separating the two because they both follow under the same category in so many way's, but doing so would cause more organization so I say do it.

 

Both are equally important and sectionals are free to do whatever kind of report(s) they want. I don't think this is necessary.

 

A scam report is different to a ban evading report.

 

I was thinking more of the two sections

1) Warrants a Ban
2) Warrants a TWC

..but I suppose your idea is good as well.

 

But separating them would discourage sectionals from doing scam reports and globals from doing ban evasion reports. Having them all in one section would be more efficient.

 

Giving sectionals permissions in that section would be more useful, so we could remove threads after we've seen them.

 

If a sectional shows a lot of experience and interest in that section, they are usually given permissions. Until then it's probably best for a global to check over the report before it's locked.

 

I don't see any sectionals doing scam reports at the moment anyway, i wouldn't say it would 'discourage' globals to do ban evade reports, it will give a chance for sectionals to show their activity, if they are not doing them, then a global can do them

 

At the moment Firez and Hahanerd come to mind. Around last year Tyro, Nick and I (sectionals at the time) did most of the reports. If they were separated into the two sections you suggested, I'm sure the ban evasion section would turn into the "sectional area" and limit the time sectionals spent doing scam reports or even checking how a global responded to a scam report.

 

I meant just for ban evasion and the like, where there isn't really any judgement involved.

But you're right that this would result in other reports not being done.

Yes it will help in time as the sectionals don't have to look through upto 5 pages of reports to see which ones they can handle (mainly the ban evade ones)

 

A sectional can do scam reports regardless, but generally they are not done by sectionals, probably because they lack experience dealing with them. But with 2 sections the ban evade reports (which do get solved much quicker, and easier) can be solved almost instantly, this will also stop the scam report section from clogging up with pages of reports.

Ofcourse if a sectional has done all those reports then they can do the scam reports too.
