the Vesta longsword/corrupt pure

Since misinformation seems rampant here i'll correct most of you.

Corrupt Vesta/Statius weapons last for 15 combat minutes. A combat minute is measured in swings. Since Corrupt Vesta are 5 speed that means they take up 3.0 seconds in a swing.

15minutes*60seconds/3.0seconds=300 hits before it's corrupt.

4.2mil/300=14k per hit

So each hit of cvls costs you 14k.

 

i hate times. showing this ruined me, because i dislike working out the timing etc. i'd much rather just enjoy the corrupt weps as i can, not plan how many hits i can make before the funs all gone. cheers anyway though..

 

I wasnt trying to say you should time it, just letting you know how much each hit will cost you approximately. So you can plan out when its beneficial to use it alot or not. As in I wouldnt pull it out more than 2-3 times during a fight where you have 0ep.

I've had a maxed cvls pure before and you literally get so 'switch happy' that you end up overusing it only to find out you got a 50k drop which wont even cover the cvls. And people will start eating at 400 very often if you try an early switch. So save it until at least a minute has gone by.

 

i have a vls pure but it isnt very fun, i use corrupt vls as k0 weapon and everytime i switch to it my opponent safes... makes me mad

 

how are you pking? if your ranging, and you time it perfectly you can do it within a knive/dart/ring throw making it physically impossible to react.

if your switching is a bit faulty go to duel arena with cheapest thrown dart/knive and an obby maul and fun some nubs or your mates.

 

Actually, that would be the case had it not been for the health bar at the top.
What most people do is check that health bar at the top right and as soon as it hits below a certain number=click shark. It will eat before your cvls damage stacks with knives/arrows. However, if you redbar them then your next hit has a pretty good chance of ko-ing them. A good range-cvls stack will only leave time for one food eat before the next cvls hit.
So it will go something like range-they eat-cvls stack-they eat-cvls hit.
Assuming theyre at 400lp and eat two shark you need to do 800lp damage which if we assume 150 via rune arrows=average of 325 each cvls hit.

This is quite manageable with high (90+) str. But again, the problem with these types of pures are that they're FEARED like the black death. People will not fight you, they'll safe to astronomical numbers which you can't even possibly hit but they think you can. If you can handle safers/runners and a bit of money loss then i'm sure you'll have no problems. They do indeed own everything at their combat. Most of the time you'll feel overpowered and frustrated at the same time as you basically wipe out their food as they safe, only for them to run out after a failed gmaul spec.

edit: I actually found it more fun to pk with a sacred clay staff-cvls switch. Most of them were pretty shocked when I smacked 270+ with the staff.
