Resolved: An Islamic cultural center should be built near Ground Zero.

The title of the thread says it all:

Resolved: An Islamic cultural center should be built near Ground Zero.

This is a debate topic that I found rather different. It seems the popular opinion is that negation side (those who oppose the idea) has the lower-hand in this scenario.

What are your thoughts?

*Please note that the cultural center is multipurpose and is separate from the mosque.

 

I think it should be built there if the developer is willing to pay the money for the building.
Because after all, Muslim or not, your money is still green.

The fact that it's a Muslim culture center doesn't matter to me, because the 9/11 attack had nothing to do with Muslim affairs. It was clearly orchestrated by the US Government.

 

i think they shouldn't be able to build it, its way too controversial and a lot of americans will think it is too soon... this is a horrible idea

 

Wait till you see how many non-muslims flood that building once it's construction is finished.

 

They have every right to build it, but if they do, there is probably going to a lot of disputes and even in some cases, people might even be killed!

 

Finally someone on sythe that isn't blinded by arrogance.
