bro cant register?

hey my brother is trying to make an account on here but its denying him because some random person is registered to the IP? any suggestions.

 

You can't have two accounts being used/registered on the same I.P address. I've used Sythe once or twice at school, and when I referred my friend to Sythe he attempted to register at school, however a warning came up pointing out that an account is already used with this I.P.

I seem to be able to make more than 1 account per ip.

 

I made an account a looooong time ago from this IP to buy a firecape, but I didn't like the name, so I made a new one when I started becoming active. (The other account has like 8 posts total....) It worked fine for me? (If this is bad, mods feel free to ban the other account or something :S)

 

Strange, I can't. I even made a post in the dispute section about it, but I don't think anyones seen it (either that or they're ignoring it).

@OP: Make a post there and see if they can sort it out? The page said to post there about it iirc

 

The same thing happened to me when I tried to sign up at school..
Try downloading an IP address changer.
I recommend Hotspot Shield.

 

IMO, forcing legitimate users to go behind a proxy, potentially creating more problems, is NOT a solution.
Why can't they just get rid of that shitty thing anyway? It's not stopping vaders, and it's causing problems for legit users.

Just go use a proxy to make an account then log in normally.

 

He clearly wanted a solution, I gave it to him.

I'm more getting at the fact that there's a massive flaw in this feature, that, as demonstrated by my thread, and this thread, is being completely ignored.
It seems like the only thing it's doing is pissing off users, and none of the staff care.

Not if you are in the same house/residence.

I know it isn't fair, but I believe it helps cut down on the ban evaders so that they cant make more than 1 account

Incorrect. IP's go by location. It has nothing to do with individual computers.

 

Turn off you router for 5 minutes so it stops trying to acquire your current ip.

Turn it back and walah, new ip you will be able to make another account.

 

Changing ip is not a solution either =///

And some of people have dynamic ip, means they can't change it.

Getting around it takes like 20 seconds. Download tor, and it takes about 2. To be honest. Just use a proxy to register. :/
