    Speeding ticket

Well. I got court date coming up for speeding ticket. I already plead not guilty. Facts:

    Allegedly going 68 in 55
Cop did not radar check me
It was 10 pm at night

Any help on how I should defend is appreciated. Trolls will be reported.

well if he doesnt have recorded proof of him clocking you on it you'll more then likely win. Just make that your big argument that he does not have a proper record of him clocking you going over the speed limit

If it is a big ticket and chance to lose license i recomend a lawer if you do not have the means of that I would just hope there is no radar record and you will win.

Thanks for the advise. This speeding ticket will be 2 points if i get convicted. In order to lose your license you need to accumulate 12 points in 1 year.

Where you actually speeding? or did you legitimately get falsely accused? its your word against a cops, did he guess 68 or did he have some speed tracking device? You shouldn't be fined if he cant prove your speed.

    Good Luck

Pace is an accurate measurement. If you came up on him too fast, then it's his word against yours, and he'll win as he doesn't have to clock you going fast to know that you were going fast.

However, you can dispute the amount of speed, saying that his value could be incorrect, and there's no way to prove exactly how fast you were going, and therefore assigning an arbitrary number is impossible unless he knew the exact distance you were from him and timed how long it took for you to come up on him, then performed an mph check.

Feasible, indeed, but you could argue rough estimation with time and distance in this case, and try and go for a less hefty fine as 13 miles over is.

E: Given that he was doing 55, he would have to recalculate distance and time all the while driving. Especially at 10 o'clock at night. You could easily argue that you were only doing 5 over, and his calculation was way off.

Honesty, all you have to do is show up or send a lawyer to show up for you. 95% of people just pay the ticket and if you show up to court the cop won't and you'l win. Nothing to worry about.

For most tickets that you go to court for, the cop either doesn't show, or reduces the charges and you can get something like a mechanical violation, which is no points, and just pay a small ticket. I'm in NY and I went to court for one and not a single person that had a traffic ticket spoke to the judge. They all got deals.

Where you from? I got radared at 80 in a 65 on the highway at like 11pm and got off with a warning in Jersey.

Anyway - just state how they have no evidence of how fast you were going, he can say you were going fast just argue that 'fast' is relative.

Do the thing where the cop has to identify you out of a group. I can't remember the name of it. But, if the cop can't pick you out, then charges are dropped.

It really depends on the state. If you're lucky, the cop just won't show and if he does he will be nice and reduce the charge. Getting it dropped is unlikely, unless your a pretty blonde girl with big boobs, tbh. Just be respectful to the cop and the judge and dress nicely. Most of the people that were in court with me were in jeans and shit and I was dressed up in nice stuff, just no tie since I was too lazy. It just puts on a good image for the judge.

Are you sure a different cop didn't radar you? Its actually common for one cop further back to take your speed than radio it to a different cop further up the road to pull you over.

Also I would have just paid the ticket. You could sit in court all day waiting to have your 5 minute speeding ticket case. However if you do wait most of the time they offer you some kind of deal if you admit you did it and they'll cut the fee in half.

Also cops are trained to measure car speeds using pace, so you claiming that the cops "speed" prediction is not accurate might not hold up in court.
