how to be myself in school

Ever since i came back to the U.S (been in the middle eaast for 2 years) ive became shyer. I used to be funny and talk alot but thats around family only now. in school im quite and cant be my funny cool not afraid self, i need more friends and this is problem isnt helping me at all.
Need help please

 

You just described me with my friends, I crack jokes but not nearly as much as I would around family and stuff.

 

The best advice I can give you is a quote from a song...

"If today was your last day, and tomorrow was to late, could you say goodbye to yesterday?"

As in, if you died today would you be totally content with what you did? Live each day like it's your last you know? You may think well it's only school, etc. However, why be withdrawn instead of outgoing and making other people happy. You're dissapointing yourself it sounds like, as well as the other people that could be laughing at what you say/do, having their day brightened by you, etc.

U.S. Schools...A LOT of kids can be complete assholes. However, you just have to look past them. You will meet a few people that you know you can trust and come to about everything, however there'll always be people trying to put you down and take away your joy. Just keep your head up, and lead the life you want to live.

No one is bullying me or nothing or being a asshole. im not having trouble with anyone.

 

Dude well maybe shit has changed and maybe you got more mature btw wtf you doing in the middle east?

Allot can happen over a period of 2 years are you at a different school or are you with the same friends you had before you moved?

 

I wasn't saying you were getting bullied or having trouble. It's about the way you conduct yourself, the kind of person you are. If you act shy and however else you are now, which your obviously unsatisfied with, would you die knowing thats the impression you left on the world? About people being assholes, well I suppose that can happen anywhere but I go to a US Public School so therefore i'd know..I suppose I just think it's probably a little more common than elsewhere. I'm saying it as there's nothing to be afraid of, no reason not to express yourself.

 

When I joined school in the middle east I lost all respect for my teachers/students but when im here my respect to ppl changed. I was there becuz my parents thought it was a good place and shit.

 

You're just different around certain people. With my friends I'll joke around and with people I don't really know I'll be more quiet. A lot of people are like.

 

Dude, just let yourself go. Honestly, grammar school, middle school and highschool are the best times to be yourself and not give a shit what people think about you. I'm a junior in highschool right now and the way I see it, in 2 years, chances are I will never see 99% of the kids I go to school with now after highschool. Who cares what they think about me? Once you go off to college is when you need to worry a little bit more about your reputation. You can meet a lot of life changing friends in college that could possibly depict your job in the future.
