for those too lazy to read: Guy was making out with another guy, and unannounced to him, his friend was taping him and streaming it live on ichat. so he committed suicide rather than face everyone and be embarrassed

You didn't even read it, he was making out/having sex with another guy, and his roommate put the webcam on and broadcasted it.

That'd be pretty humiliating if he wasn't actually gay, or if he wasn't ready for people to know. Either way, I wouldn't kill myself over it.

Damn that is pretty sad. I hope the roommate feels like a total ass fuck head.
Also the college I go to has had a couple suicide's as well in the past couple years. We had some girl hang herself in her closest, some guy jump of the very top of a dorm building which was over 15 floors high, also some other guy who hung himself on a tree. Pretty damn sad. Just had a kid die 2 weeks ago from my college from drinking. He drank himself to death.

 

Poor guy. I reckon he was suicidal anyway; the people who recorded shouldn't be charged...

It was likely just the betrayal-flavoured icing on the cake.

 

There were probably many other factors than that event that contributed to his suicide. Depression can do some bad things, and a really bad event can trigger some real bad things for people with depression issues.
