Has RuneScape Changed to Much?

From 2004 (Good Days) - 2010 (Now) I dont think there has been 1 Good update... Every single Update has somthing to do with "Pissing" RS players off.

Has Jagex changed RuneScape to much to be Fun any more?

I think so, Now its just all about Bots & Dumb ass trolls.
(And PPL who started in 2009 and are lvl 29 who think they know more then ppl that played in 2001)...

 

Yea, agree. Most of the updates are useless, and just piss people off, no idea why are they doing it...

 

Yet you still probably play... it doesn't matter what they do your still hooked for the game.

I know the good days were good, and I enjoyed them a lot more than now. But I still love the game and can't complain.

runescape changed too much. Can't even say the all wrong updates, etc. It's just not the same old rs as it was..

 

I pretty much quit in 2005, I come back for like a week or two every year, and it seems completely different every time. Probably best that i left back then, keep the memories of the good times xD.

 

Someone that has quit in 2004 and would come back in 2010 would think it's a new game. That sucks, yeah.

 

It isn't the same game anymore, some of the updates are good, the god wars dungeon was great, the new skills aren't bad, the quests are fun but the fact that you cannot freely trade, pk or stake anymore has taken away the elements that made it a successful multiplayer online game in the first place, these are the factors that made the game, people play online multiplayer games to interact with other players through these features, without them it might aswell be a single player game because that is what it's becoming, there isn't much use of playing with others anymore.

 

There are many threads just like this. I think almost everyone is in consensus that the older game is better than today.

 

Runescape has changed too mcuh for cheaters.

For the legit players, it is still fun and the updates are great.

 

I disagree. PvP was made for legit players and they ruined that.
It may have been caused by scammers, lurers and what not.

But thats all apart of the game.
Seriously, I got lured and I learnt from it.

It's fucked up how they think they can just ruin it.

Remember the riots? Holy shit.. they really pissed off people.

I used to have a screenshot of the worlds when PvP got removed.
there was like 200max people playing all up.

Runescape was so bad for awhile.
However, they're slowly(but surely) redeeming themselves.

 

After the Trade limit update and wilderness update runescape died and i quit after that... I still have my level 124 f2p... with like 3 purple party hats... I log in like once every 2 months to check up... and when the profit it big enough sell the hats..

 

For me it has, that is the one of the main reasons I quit.

Partly, I will list the reasons from most important to least.
1. I already had a life but it just got that much better.
2. Updates, the main ones were trade limit pking and climbing boots.
3. Since pking was gone no reason to play, that was all I did any way.
4. Community is fucked up there.
5. A few more.. Not really worth mentioning though.

 

To be honest, if they hardly ever changed the game, people would get pissed off and stop buying members as there's nothing new to do, but you can never keep everyone happy (like Jagex has figured out recently)... at the end of the day, it's about making the most profit, and to do that they need member subscriptions therefore they'll keep updating the game (mostly for members) to keep the members entertained and to pull in new members...
That's one of the good things about RuneScape, Jagex regularly add lots of new content...

 

I like the old content, things like GWD, corporeal are cool, but nothing else there is no need to create hundreds of quests and stupid skills, which are minigames and very bad minigames (dungeoneering), what's next runescapeering? Everyone was happy with an ability to pk, stake in the duel arena, they need to find the ways to make this possible or they just need to open RuneScape2 (2007-2009) servers like they did with RuneScape classic.

 

Yes. I started in '05 and would wish we were back in those times.
Tgere are a few minor good updates but most are complete crap.
Like the 3 Pest Control boats.
etc etc.

Updates like adding new minigames such as SW are great tho.

I wouldn't even call it RuneScape anymore. It's a completely different game than it was in 2004. It's still decent but not nearly as good as the old days.

 

Forgot about that, however it had to be done. I didn't really pk.

The riots was quite bad, because many just play the game so they can just pk, but I think Jagex has redeemed themselves for it. Took them a while.

Though, graphic updates since then, pvp worlds, more items, more quests and more skills, I think the game is better.
