Surgery for Wisdom Teeth? Who's had it?

Hey guys, i go in later this week to get my wisdom teeth removed =/. Just wondering who's had theirs out and whats the pain like after/ how long does it last etc.

I had mine surgically removed about a year ago. It's no big deal really. They gave me like 8 shots (I didn't want to be knocked out) and were done in like 10-15 minutes. You go home and your mouth stops bleeding in a few days.

 

If I can give you a tip, get all of them (4) removed at the same time. Otherwise you will never want to go back there.

Nothing's painful at the beginning.. the doctor freezes you and then he pulls out your teeth. You go back home and as soon as the effect of the anesthesia wears off, you wanna kill yourself.

 

Yeah I'm getting all mine out, except I'm getting knocked out. It was the easier option suggested, and less nightmarish. Unless of course i wake up half way through.

 

This is just to weird, my mother has her wisdom teeth removed a week ago, and now shes in tip-top shape. She says you don't feel anything until you wake up, and per request of pain the doctor will give you many pain medications. My mother was so doped up that week she didn't know which world she was in, but she wasn't in that much pain, the worst part for her was waking up because it took awhile for her to get her meds.

 

Lol, well apparently where i live you don't even need to ask. We were told when we had to appointment to organise it, that they will be sitting there when i wake up, without us even asking - lol.

According to mum though, it doesn't hurt anyway until about 2 hours after you wake up, which is enough time for them to kick in.

 

Yeah because the stuff they knock you out with doesn't wear off till then, but they screwed up my mothers meds and she had to wait a day to get them.

 

OH =/ lol that would be a pain in the ass.

 

More or so a pain in her mouth, haha but i had to drive her back from the doctor, and ive never laughed so hard from someone being so doped up. Im pretty sure whoever drives you there will mess with you to.haha.

 

Yeah, dad probably will, but only cos i give him a hard time about everything else.

 

I haven't, but I'm starting to feel my wisdom teeth growing in, and I'm paranoid that I might have to >_<

 

lol yeah, tbh when i felt them growing in, I didn't even think about it, until i went to my orthodontist and she was like :O

 

I heard they put you on some crazy drug where you have no idea where you are for the next 12 hours.

 

Pain Killers? lol, i guess that's the idea, will get rid of the pain entirely, cos you're doped out in another world.

 

I had all 4 removed at once so pain was 4x worse. I'm sure it won't be that bad if you're only removing once.

But yeah basically you won't be able to yawn, open your jaw, or chew. You will have to drink milk shakes so it fills you up and you don't have to chew. Also pain killers will help. Good luck, it's not bad at all.

 

No? I had 4 removed at once and I was fully aware of where I was. Just a bit sleepy that's all. The drug wears off in 2-3 hours and let the pain begin.

 

lol, lite foods, weight loss, that's probably good after sitting on my ass eating chips all holidays. and yeah im getting all 4 out

 

He means when you first wake up from the surgery. I got all 4 of mine out a couple of months ago. From the time i woke up from the surgery till the time i got home i don't really remeber because I was still all messed up and its like that for alot of people. But otherwise it wasnt to bad, hopefully you get stitches that just fall out like i got otherwise i think its a hassle to clean them. And i never really had to much pain but when i did 3 of the percocet did the trick

 

Just had the surgery done, now I'm all huurrr and i can't speak 'proper'
