nz is also more expensive to travel to compared to aussie. Move to aussie im nz and i have to say aussie is so much better and offers more of selection of thing to do + the weather is alot better there.

edit: RSPROD - unemployment rates in new zealand are at 6.8% not 3.2% down .3% from june which was 7.1%

    Wanting to leave

    Boston Massachusetts United States:

    Education
Boston is known as one of the Education Capitals in the United States. It is home to Harvard University, Arguably the BEST College or University in the World. It is also home to Massachusetts Institution of Technology. Also considered to be one of the top 10 Colleges in the World. It's Schools have some of the smartest kids in it from grades K - 12. (The grading System for schools in the United States, Elementary school - High School.) Very great city with top of the line education system.

    Hospitals/Health Care
Boston is also extremely well known in the United states for having some of the best Doctors, and Hospitals in the United States, and in some cases the world. Having Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital in the same area, it makes it very easy for most Harvard grads to stay in Boston, because they know that Mass General has all the Best doctors and surgeons and only accept the best. They are ranked in the top 25 Hospitals in almost every category, and top 5 or 10 in more than half of all possible categories. The Childrens Hospital in Boston has been ranked as the 3rd Best in the Country behind Tennessee and Philadelphia.

    Work/Jobs
Depending on your education, getting a Job in Boston could go either way, it can be very easy or it can be very difficult. Boston is a Mid - to Small size City, but has the same feel as a Big City such as Los Angels, New York, and Chicago. So it has plenty of Job opportunities if you know exactly what you want to do and where you want to go with your life.

    Transportation
Boston is considered a walking city since you can walk from one edge of Boston to another in about an hour or so. Boston's public transportation, although it gets complaint at time, like anything else, runs pretty efficiently. The network is pretty big as well and divided into several section. The subway is made up of 4 line and expand to about 10 miles away from Downtown Boston. Buses goes even further. Commuter Ferries/boats takes you into several location, including the airport and Quincy from Boston. The commuter rail consist of several line that extend from Lawrence, MA to Providence, RI and west towards Worcester, MA. Taking a car into Boston is another story. It is pretty hard to find parking in the Boston Area and at certain times, traffic can be heavy but not gridlocked.

    Housing
I can't say much about the housing except for the fact that I live about 5 miles south of Boston. However, I've heard a couple of things. For the cheapest rooms, in my opinion, find a place considered a commuting city. Those can be found around Boston. They may not have subway stations, but 90% of them do. But they are more likely to have 2 or more buses. What I've heard, the cheapest place in Metro Boston is in the North End, AKA Little Italy for those outside of MASS. I can't give you exact prices but I heard it is $200 per month with one or two roommates sharing the same amount. These are just to give you an idea. If you want to rent an apartment on your own expect to pay upwards of $800 for a 1 Bedroom.

    Culture/History
Boston has a very rich History and Culture. It is a very big piece of American History, along with Philadelphia Pennsylvania. This is the time in US History when there really wasn't a Washington DC or a Capital of the United States. It was really split between Boston Mass, and Philly. When you live in Boston you can see that it really cherishes it's rich history. You can see a lot of statues and monuments of major people in United States History. Boston has a very European feel to it also. It's a very old city, and old style kind of. You go to the North End where a lot of people eat and go to restaurants (Italian restaurants mostly) and shop.

    Entertainment
Here in Boston entertainment is HUGE! Sports is very very important in the City of Boston, and there is almost a sporting event going on every night in the city of Boston. Another big thing in Boston is Concerts and Special events. Boston is favorites to a lot of famous Bands and Singers. It's also the starting point for a lot of famous actors and actresses. This is my favorite place to live, I have been to New York, and Florida, and lived in 3 other states, and there is no place I would rather live then here.

You should move to the USA. I'd suggest somewhere nice and sunny like Florida or California, but it's really up to you. Miami is around $700 (£455) and Los Angeles is $900 (£590.)

Never move to Massachusetts, housing is expensive, probably most expensive state. Strict state, taxes on everything. Terrible... terrible state. Horrible winters, etc. Florida is probably your best bet if you're starting shitty. Housing is cheap, a lot of things there are cheap. I think what you're doing is unrealistic tho. I'm having enough trouble trying to buy a car, yet alone move to another state. Seems crazy, best of luck to you tho.

I have lived in UK and USA both seem so much more stressful the Aus, and every one I have met that comes over here say its more relaxed and easy going. Try to get away from Sydney City though way to many people. Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast are very nice.

Haha Hey orlando isn't that bad, I really enjoy lining here. I have lived here for over 15 years and really like it. Plenty of amusment parks and beaches all within an hour drive.

But to answer your question I'm going to suggest a place no one has suggested yet. The place is Brazil, with great people and a relazed atmospher its the place to go. Its a relativly cheap place to live and with beutifull cities such as Rio De Janero and even Sao Paulo its a great place. The country side of sao paulo would be my choice, but hey thats just me :p

Anyways hope you look into it and goodluck!

I honestly would recommend Virginia/Washington DC, USA. We don't have any natural disasters, it doesn't that cold or that hot, there are tons of government jobs/ government contracting jobs. There are tons of things to do, and I really like it here :)

Don't go to Sydney, Australia. Come to Brisbane, Australia. The people here are much nicer, and so are the beaches.:)

Hopefully I can actually go through with a move after next year (once I get my diploma in graphic design). It's looking like California would be my favourite option. Just gotta start saving now. Thanks for all your input.

    Wanting to leave

This, but obviously avoid certain areas. As an Essex boy I can tell you it can get rough around here.

Anyway, I'd suggest saving up for a couple of months and then travelling for ages. My friend managed to travel for 3 or 4 months on barely any money, but he did have to live off really cheap food (which did lead to a hilarious story involving opium pizza, but that's for another time). You should get a friend, a backpack, some plane tickets to Thailand and then enjoy yourself. In countries like this you can really let go. Check out some Laos videos online, it looks awesome.

Only after travelling around and being away from your home do you realise how much you like it, I used to think I hated growing up in a scummy part of the South-East of England, but now I've accepted that it's my home and I actually quite enjoy it.

I hope you realise what you need to do, feeling uncomfortable where you live isn't pleasant :(.

From what I hear Florida houses are really cheap nowadays and you could get a nice house/apartment down there. It is always warm there and seems like a nice place to live.
