Once a scammer always a scammer? I know this is generalizing and there are a few exceptions where people change, but why give the benefit of the doubt to EVERYONE? Making scamming a non-perm ban is irrational as it just gives MORE incentive to scam... yea 5-10$ big deal, but trust me it is a huge pain loosing that money when you really need it for something.

    Do not permanent ban scammers.

I am not planning on scamming. I am trying to make less people get banned so that the community can grow with people who may have scammed but have learned and changed. Thanks.

    Why is it bullshit?

I'm making you guys think. I've explained myself about 3923092329320x10^3999329 times and I'm tired of it. Giving them access to just one subforum isn't going to make them happy. They will want to be able to post where they want, as long as its not the market. Whats against letting them post in all the other sections, as long as they want to? Them being back isn't a punishment, its a chance. Banning them from places besides the market is just a punishment.

We aren't giving it to everyone. Read some of my posts. A system would be put in place to allow people who don't evade and show that they have changed in some ways to come back.

We're not retarded, and we do think before we post. You just don't like the fact of someone disagreeing with you. This honestly doesn't sound like you're suggesting anything anymore, it sounds a lot more like a dispute for one of your friends that were banned in the past. It doesn't matter how many times you already explained yourself, making yourself seem like a total douche will not change anyone's opinions.

Everything I've said in this thread, was well thought out and I stick by my opinions. I'm done debating with a brick wall though.

At first I though no, then after reading for a bit I still thought no. You can't say that every one has changed like Finn. I think you could temp ban those who scam little amounts like -5$ but honestly if they are going to risk their account by scamming a little the chances of them scamming for more money later is pretty high.

I am not calling anyone retarded or stupid. People come to conclusions about decisions, based on many different things. Questioning these conclusions makes people see what they think in a different light which may change their mind, make them see another point of view, or further strengthen their current opinion. This is a suggestion, that I feel strongly about. I have no friends on Sythe that have been banned for scamming. I don't even really talk to anyone who has been banned for scamming.

I don't care what you think of me. I really don't. I am simply questioning your beliefs and if you get mad at me for it, what ever.

Some people deserve a second chance, as scamming isn't the terrible crime that everyone makes it out to be. Should they be trusted again? No, they shouldn't but that doesn't mean that they can not come back to the community and contribute while safety precautions are in place to keep them from ever trading on Sythe again. After a year or so, if people have not ban evaded to come back to scam, the likely hood that they only want to come back to scam is minimal. By not doing anything wrong for about a year after they scam, they have shown that they may have changed. These people should be given a second chance, and if they mess up at all, then their chance should be taken away.

If someone wants to show logically why someone should be perm banned no matter what, then go ahead and my mind might change.

Size shouldn't matter. Scamming is still scamming. The point is the ban should be basically perm, unless you dispute and show you should be allowed to come back.

If you give scammer a chance, it will scam again because the rules is not strict.

Surely every member has been scammed at least once. It's not pleasant. No one would like to be scammed and the person be let off with a mere wrist slap. I do respect that people can change, but if scammers know they can get a second chance, we'll be in a state of anarchy...
The only case a scammer should be forgiven is if they truly feel guilt for what they did and repay the person the goods before even asked to.

in my opinion how big of a scam it is should determine if its perm or not. if someone scams for like $5 a perm is a bit much but if they scam for $100+ then yes they deserve a perm

A TWC isn't enough of a punishment. People can still scam with just a TWC. It isn't safe for the other users to let scammers off that easily.

A wrist slap? Not perm banning them doesn't mean we would give them a month ban. Its more of an extended ban like a year or so at which point they could ask to be let back with a market ban and DO NOT TRADE RANK. That isn't a wrist slap. Thats much more serious.

The amount doesn't matter, as they still have it in their heads that scamming is something that they are okay with, which isn't good.
