    Maax's Farming guide

    Maax’s Farming Guide

Hello everyone, I decided to make a Farming guide due to the high amount of people that claim to hate farming. I was one of those player until a friend of mine taught me how to farm and that’s when I “fell in love” with the skill. Once you know what to do and how to do it, it is an extremely easy skill that doesn’t require too much effort to get to 99! I have now 16M Farming experience and I just keep farming for fun. I hope you guys will enjoy this guide.

    Farming tools

The farming tools are your best friends when you farm. You should always have the Tool Leprechaun filled in order to look like this:

You can find a Tool Leprechaun around every farming patch.

What do I need and why?

[IMG] A Rake: Rakes are used to clear up the grass from your patches. You should always keep one stored in your equipment store because sometimes the grass grows as your finish harvesting.

[IMG] A Seed Dibber: A must if you have to plant a seed.

[IMG] A Spade: Not matter what you are Farming, you need a spade in your inventory to plant your crops.

[IMG] A Trowel: This tool is used to fill empty plant pots with dirt. Useful if you can’t get any filled plant pots.

[IMG] Secateurs: They are used to cut away the diseased branches from bushes and trees.

[IMG] Magic Secateurs: They are a normal pair of secateurs and they increase the yield by 10% of allotment, crops, herbs and hops. You can obtain them by doing the quest “Fairy Tale Part 1”.

[IMG] Watering Can: Used to water crops and saplings.

[IMG] Scarecrow: Helps prevent sweetcorns from becoming diseased when put in a flower patch. You can make a scarecrow by using an empty sack on a straw bale, then use the hay sack on a bronze spear and then simply add a watermelon!

[IMG] Supercompost: A must if you want your crops to survive.

    How to farm herbs

All you have to do is clear the patch with a rake (if it’s not done already), use your supercompost on the patch, use your seed on the patch again and voilà! Your herbs should be done in 75 minutes!

What do I need to farm herbs?

To farm herbs you will need to following items: Law runes, Air runes, Fire runes, Water runes, Ectophial*, Spade, Seed Dibber, Magic Secateurs**, Seeds and Supercompsot.

*: Ectophial can be obtained by doing the quest “Ghosts Ahoy”.
    **: Magic Secateurs are optional.

Your inventory should look like this:

    Where can I farm herbs?

There are 5 herb farming patch in RuneScape. Here’s a list of them with a picture that shows how to get there.

Camelot: You can go to this patch by teleporting to Camelot and then going east.
No requirement needed for this patch.

Ardougne: You can go to this patch by teleporting to Ardougne and going North of the city past the Master Farmer.
No requirement needed for this patch.
Note: You can go to this patch by teleporting with the Ardougne Cloak 3 aswell, obtained by completing the Ardougne Achievement Diary.

Falador: You can go to this patch by teleporting to Falador and going to the south entrance. Once you are there, simply go east along the city’s wall.
No requirement needed for this patch.
Note: You can go to this patch by teleporting with the Explorer’s Ring 3 aswell, obtained by completing the Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary.

Ectofuntus: You can go to this patch by teleporting to Ectofuntus with your Ectophial. Then simply go west past the undead farm.
You need to have completed the quest “Ghost Ahoy” to be able to use this patch properly.

Trollheim: You can go to this patch by teleporting to Trollheim, climbing down the hill and then go west. Get inside the troll stronghold and simply go up the ladder.
You need to have completed the quest “My Arm’s Big Adventure” to be able to use this patch.
Note: This patch is a disease-free herb patch.

How To Farm Trees & Fruit Trees

Now that you know how to farm herbs, I’ll teach you how to farm trees. To farm trees, you need a little more preparation than herbs. Unlike herbs, you don’t plant a seed but you plant a “sapling”. To make a sapling, you will need a Gardening Trowel, a Spade, a Watering Can, some Plant Pots and the Tree seeds of your choice.

Your inventory should now look like this:

Now that your inventory is set, simply use the seeds of your choice on the Plant Pots.
You should now obtain Seedlings and your inventory should look like this:

Now that you have a bunch of Seedlings, you have to water them to make them turn into Saplings. Simply use your Watering Can on each Seedling.
Note: Once your Watering Can is empty, simply use it on a Water Tap, a Sink or a Fountain to refill it.

Once your Seedlings have been successfully watered, you should obtain the following message when you examine your Seedlings:

All you have to do is wait a couple minutes and your Watered Seedlings should turn into Saplings.

How much Farming XP do I get from Trees and Fruit Trees?

Here’s two (2) charts that you can refer to at anytime. :)

**: The required items to pay the farmer are optional but strongly recommended. Here’s a chart that shows what you need for each kind of Tree:

It's so easy lol all you have to do is ~30mins per day and you'll get 99 after a couple months. You just have to take your farm trip as a routine.

Nice guide, I love farming aswell, once you get into herb farming you get nice tidy profits.

Maybe to improve it a little and make it possibly a 10/10 guide you could tell people what herbs to farm. For example right now at 71 I'm doing snaps and usually get around 100-200k per run.
