Black Ops thread

I hope they don't fuck the whole thing up by not having a beta like MW2 did. That's my biggest issue with Black Ops; no beta.

 

If they'd had a beta for Mw2 they would have known to remove painkiller, fix hundreds of bugs, make the M203 weaker, etc.

 

Maybe add idle sway and recoil back too... That really pissed me off about MW2.

Oh well, I'll just hope Activision suddenly got a better internal testing team.

 

There is greater idle sway, recoil is also greater.
There is no more stopping power, commando, or danger close.
Killstreaks don't add up to each other.

There had better not be a nuke or anything that ends a game abruptly. Has that been confirmed.

 

What I know about black ops is
there adding someone very similar to zombies
the prestige and hardened mode come with the 4 original zombie maps.
There will be split screen online (finally)
And a lot more character customization which the other call of dutys were lacking
for example, different clothing and I some some screenies with "pwn" scratched into the guys assault rifle.

 

If they use a currency system I'ma be annoyed. Don't like the reacher currency either. :/

 

looks fun to play but i might get it after Christmas

but the only thing i hate is that the weapons might be even more over powered ;(

 

Just going to throw this out there, but every gun on Mw2 is UNDERpowered except for the UMP.

And no, they won't be. They removed Stopping Power, increased recoil and idle sway, and made the guns more balanced.

G18s ARE in the game, but their power and fire rate have increased dramatically.

 

I don't really expect much from this game. All the Call of Dutys after the first Modern Warfare have gone down hill. This one seems to be slighly better then MW2, though. I'll have to rent it before I buy it.

 

The UMP45 and a majority of the assault rifles are all ridiculously overpowered in MW2.

G18s should have their stuff reduced; it doesn't bode well if they increased the power/RoF dramatically...

 

I love the akimbo knives, with the shooting one, not sure of the name.
Overall it looks great, can't wait for it to come out.

seems like a more but boring version of mw2..not to keen on the killstreaks that are offered, the new currency systems seems kind of gay. don't know what the fuck a ballistic knife is..

 

I meant to say decreased. And surprisingly, the UMP is realistic, not overpowered. Guns such as the mp5k and uzi that in real life only take 2 well placed shots to kill still take 5 shots to the head to kill in the game.

 

If we were aiming for realism, trust me, we wouldn't have a 100 point health system with set damage for certain ranges. The UMP45 is broken because it maintains a 3-shot kill at any range WITHOUT stopping power.

They kind of redid everything from previous games minus the core gameplay, gotta praise them for something so bold.

I don't think the currency system will work as intended to be frank.

A ballistic knife is a prototype knife from the Cold War era that could shoot a blade out of the handle.

 

I'm actually pretty stoked for this game to come out. PC all the way, my Xbox recently died, RROD :\

 

Hellz yeah, we get dedicated servers back. No more host migration.

 

Wasn't black Ops supposed to be more like..Battlefield. Like much larger maps, and different play styles? That's what i was told anyway.
