Staff Feedback. Hypocritical?

Are guides not supposed to go into as much detail as possible? He intended this to be a guide. I am sure if I go look into the stickys for writing a guide it will state that you should use as much detail as possible.

 

He was writing about what is illegal. Whether or not he actually did it is someone elses problem. Maybe he is a pathological liar? Just making stuff up.

 

Why are you keen to defend him?

He was actively promoting illegal activity, and he was banned accordingly as that kind of material is not welcome here.

 

I do not even know him, I am not defending anyone. Just trying to get my own questions answered. Of which everyone is doing. I thank you.

 

I can write a guide on many things, say making liquid nitrogen ice cream for example, by looking at failed vids, successful vids, researching, and many more variables. Without ever having made that ice cream.

This is ridiculous. You are defending a person who instructed others on how to steal/scam. Why the hell would he be let off?

To let it be clear, he is banned so what. I dont know the guy, I dont care about the guy. I just am sharing my opinion in the "feedback section" is all.

 

That's hardly relevant, he'll remain banned whether he actually did it in real life or not.

 

It doesn't even matter whether he has actually stolen things himself. This website does not condone stealing, if he wrote a guide on how to do so then he should be banned. I'm having a lot of trouble seeing the point you're trying to make.

 

My point is that this whole incident was hypocritical, and wanted to get it straight. From what I have gotten: it is ok to break copyright LAWS on this site, it is NOT ok to WRITE about illegal activity, and MODS are allowed to ban on opinion. If that is all correct, all my questions have been answered.

 

It is relevant because if you read the previous posts, it is possible to write a guide without actually experiencing it.

I understand, and really couldnt care less.

Am I allowed to make a guide on how to tazer someone? Or how to speed without getting caught? (Side question)

 

OK so allowing people to advertise Server Development, meaning they have actually engaged in illegal activity, is ok. But writing guides about engaging in illegal activity is not. Thank you very much. It all makes sense to me.

 

He was banned for teaching people how to steal, wouldn't you think teaching people how to hack is also worthy of a ban?

You ban one user for teaching how to steal, but not another for teaching another form of stealing.
