    Yeah.. I have one.

I just cannot stop. When I win, I keep going to try and recoop more money I lost, or just try to make more.

Any advice from those who had a gambling problem and managed to straightten themselves up?

    Gambling Problem

Are we talking about online gambling sites or in RL?

Because i have a gambling problem too (Internet poker) and lost like 3000Euro in less then a year. And i found a solution to it. All i did was install K9 Web protection software and disable anything that has to do with gambling. then trow away the password to the setup page so you can't disable it and you are set.

But it really sucks to stay away from gambling once you got addicted to it.
If this doesn't help or if you have problems with RL gambling i suggest that you seek professional help....because you really don't want to lose as much as i did.

    It's free.

Haha I had an addiction too. I played on Pokerstars luckily though I won a few thousand from sit n go's. I'd usually waste my money on the cash games. How I deposited money was vanilla mastercards so if you really tell yourself not to buy anymore and go to the store and get them....you should be fine. Another reason I lost interest was because my friends use to play online but now that school started they don't play anymore.

Well if your on an online site, such as a pokerstars acount, what I would suggest is you ask them to close your account so you cannot use it. Hope you get rid of the addiction.

In real life I am more controlled, as I only go to a casino with friends.

Online, I am a maniac. I closed my 888.com account, but opened it again. I am also with Bet365, but limited to around £25 a week thankfully.

Today won 60 pound back, but still losing overall for the week... Not a good sign.

i was same with roulette machines and football accumulators

but i cut down now i only put a few quid (spare change money i know i can spare on tenner most spread on accumulators)

if i win i bank the money i put on in the first place and then play about with the profits. set a weekly/daily limit the reason i gambled was purely cos i was bore so try spend ur time on doing other things to take your mind of it (xbox live) and going to my gf's house more take my mind of it worked as i spend about 10 a week maximum on footie accumulators spare changed goes on roulette

Credit card declined, that has stopped me for now, with me losing around £90 in 5 days.

Trying to break even, just so I know I haven't lost any money.

dont even bother to try and win your money back just stop count your losses before you lose more.
I cant say i've ever gambled online but i have lost over 10k on the horses and blackjack + pokies

its really not worth it some days your up but most of the time your down.

quit while you dont get into more debt.

    Gambling Problem

I used to some what have the same addiction. Mine was an online one. I play poker in real life but never bet money on it. Basically I put 10$ in full tilt and got a few hundred dollars in a night. Then being stupid I didn't cash out and instead went all in with another fella. Well lets just say no more cash. Now I play but not often. If you can't find a program to block the poker sites then I would suggest playing small pots until you have won what you have put in. Then take that amount out and play with what is left over. Now if you lose it you will still strike even. I have done this a few times before and never lost any money. Well that's just my tip of advice. Good luck ending you addiction.

Lost £200, and on my road to quitting.

I downloaded something called Betfilter that does not allow you to connect to any gambling sites.

I also signed up to gamcare.org, a forum/community devoted to helping those with a gambling problem.
