    Fear

I just wanted to discuss something on my mind with the good people of the Sythe forums. At the beginning of a book I recently read (Night Shift, by Stephen King), the author talks about fear. Fear is an interesting subject, if you ask me, and I have a few questions that I think a some of you could help me answer. Let's jump to it..

    1. What is fear to you personally?

    2. Do you think fear is something that comes naturally, or something we create ourselves?

    3. Related to number two, do you think some people don't experience fear?

    4. Why are some things more frightful than others?

Some of these might seem easy or bad, or something, but I thought it was worth asking. If anyone else here wants to drop in a few question about this, please do.

    Fear

    1. What is fear to you personally?
If your asking what do I persoally fear then I guess I fear dying lol and Also drowning (It's odd IMO)

    2. Do you think fear is something that comes naturally, or something we create ourselves?
I believe that fear is something/object which we don't fully understand and create something that is unrealistic through our thoughts.
Its like watching a scary movie but you miss the ending...Your mind is going to wonder what happened until you see the end of that movie...You may start to fear that object being protrayed in the movie because you don't fully know what is the fact and what is fiction.

    3. Related to number two, do you think some people don't experience fear?
I believe that every human that has a developed mind(of some sort) to have some sort of fear. Even if they claim they don't have any fears, there is something in their mind that they do not wish to happen.

    4. Why are some things more frightful than others?
Not truely understanding an object. Again this I believe is developed during the earlier stages of your life. Remember being a kid and watching, again, a scary movie and seeing like a giant spider attack people, well then you grow a fear of spiders because of your perception of them in that environment. If you went to a bug show(IDFK lol) and was introduced to them, I feel the chance of fearing spiders is much less.

I know i wrote very much and idk why but i did lol. =D

    Fear

    1. What is fear to you personally?

Fear to me is not knowing what is coming. You don't know what is going to happen to to you and when it's going to happen, we can't comprehend this. One thing most people fear is death. We don't KNOW what happens after death, we can only believe.

    2. Do you think fear is something that comes naturally, or something we create ourselves?

I believe it is natural to have fear. If you will notice, even animals that we consider dumb show fear.

    3. Related to number two, do you think some people don't experience fear?
They realize that whatever happens, happens. There is nothing you can do about it.

    4. Why are some things more frightful than others?

I'm not sure on this one.

I don't believe fear comes natural, with more knowledge comes more fear. You'd have to know what something is to fear it. You fear something based on experiences you've had in your life, or something you see or hear about.

    Fear

No....You may not know what this creature is, but you should know some of its attributes and characteristics. Weither it's big or small, has sharp teeth, moves fast, has scales or fur. Depending on the stereotypes you have, you will or will not fear that creature.

What I said works in the context of. If you've never seen or heard of death, then why would you fear death? Without knowledge, there would be no fear.

    Fear

    1. Are you asking for our personal fears or for us to say what we think fear is?

    2. I believe certain fears are natural while others are created from past personal experiences.

    3. No, everyone is fearful of something at some point in their life, if they say they aren't they are trying to be a hardass and lying.

    4. Personal experiences with whatever is feared by the certain individual I would say.

    Sorry for any confusion :/

I meant what fear is, not what you fear. Thanks for the answers! Good stuff, guys.
