Yeah, torture sometimes seems like it would be a better punishment than just a little injection for killing hundreds or even thousands of people. Pretty ridiculous.

    Death Penalty

The thing that many people don't think about is the mental stress a person goes through when awaiting the death penultimate. Knowing that exact date of your death even if its 10 years from now is still horrible. Your days are numbered and that can affect a persons mental health. The person will suffer just as much as spending 40 years in jail, but without wasting tens of thousands of tax payer dollars.

Think realistically, torturing under any circumstances is inconstitutional. Theres no way that torturing could be a plausible way to punish someone for their previous actions.

If I was a murderer, I would rather end my life rather than be arrested in go to a wretched place like jail. Thats why you see people who've commited multiple-murders kill themselves before the police get them in custody.

A life time in prison is alot more money that euthanizing someone. Your looking at a life time of breakfast, lunch, and dinner free. Although it may be crap food, the money adds up and it is a majority of tax-dollars that are being wasted.

    It depends on the case.
If a person raped a girl and killed three guys then yes.
    It just all depends.
Sadly there is no absolute written law on what the limit is so I do not see it happening.
    However,
I do wish that there was some sort of death penalty. Some of those people don't deserve to live and take our tax money.

I don't support the death penalty. For one, supporters claim it's a deterrent - who goes and kills a family and thinks, "Damn, I might get the death penalty." Also, it's an irreversible punishment. Sure, getting locked up for twenty years sucks to find out you're innocent - but to be killed then say, "Oops our bad", that's terrible.

    Eye for an eye.

Of course, this would be only be for first degree murder or pre-meditated murder. Obviously not in self defense.

There are to many murders that get around to pissing as most time away as possible. Once convicted of murder you should have one chance to appeal, and if failed then you fry, or lethally inject. I have had one of my friends get lethal injection, and ya it sucked, but he was guilty of killing 4 people.

    Jails are to over-crowded.

I believe in the death sentence. Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would want others to do to you.

Well, if they feel the need to murder, they made their choice.

People who say that death penalty is cheaper then you need to check yourself because it is financially cheaper to keep a person in jail for life then to use lethal injection.

I do not believe that any person should have a say whether or not another person should die, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE. Death is a 'fast' way to get out something that is illegal/immorally wrong.

Also, I know the chance of this is very low due to the advancement in technology but even if ONE person is killed by the death penalty when they were innocent, there is nothing you can do to bring back that person. If he was sentence to life then proven innocent, he would still be ALIVE and released. Even if it was wrong in the beginning he still has a life to live.

Bullets are cheaper than a vial of chemicals.

What happened to using a post and a rifle? There is no 'humane' way to kill someone, they are still dead.

Not for an "act of crime that is extreme" but for a murder espically serial killers, rapists. So yeah I think it should be implemented for certian things.

It is a Just punishment. An eye for an eye.Ear for a ear. Blood for blood. If the murderer does kill someone else then they should have their life taken away as well. Only if they kill more then 4 people I think death penalty would be just.

Well first off, shooting a person doesn't always kill them.

And if you read past that statement I said under no circumstance should anybody be killed.

There should be no death penalty.

If you murdered someone, and got caught, would you rather be executed, or spent rest of your life in jail, without no hope of ever getting out?

    I would choose death.
Because when you are in jail for, lets say 40 years, you would have plenty of time to think of what you've done. But if you gt the death penalty, that would be the easy way out, no / very little pain, almost no time to regret your deeds etc.

Mkay let's look at this. A man traps a family in their own home and kills them. One at a time, slowly, in front of the others who are tied up.

This man does not deserve to be killed? And if he gets shot and doesn't die, GOOD! Then he experiences a PINCH of what the family felt.

I agree with finn. Death seems an easy way out of the mistake(s) that you have made, and many offenders would much rather have their lives ended than spend the rest of their moronic lives in a steel cage like a monkey.

Effectively, the government owns your life.

Wouldn't it be much more effective for him to be sentenced to life in jail? Everday he'd be suffering, and regretting his acts. Dying is so much easier than living, why give him the easy way out?

Let me tell you guys something, jail isn't as terrible as it's made out to be. A friend of mine's dad was sentenced for being an accomplice to a murder. He actually ENJOYS jail. He and his cellmate get along well and he's not had any problems with any other members.

He doesn't have to worry about the outside world, the only problem for him is he misses his family.

It may be different in other countries, but in America, the prisoners are treated like it's a low class hotel.
