computer help

Well a couple weeks back my computer got reset/rebooted back to how it was when we got it new. I didnt think much of it but now i cant download any new stuff (avg).. it says i need a more up to date operating system. That means i need to download a windows service package (or 3 but i prefer 2) and when i try look for the download page i only get this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

it says if i need to update one computer i need to click this link http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5

im using firefox and it tells me to go back to the page or check my automatic update thing which doesnt help.

Have you tried using the Windows Update feature built in on your computer yet? or have you been searching to update online?

 

Search for "windows update" on your computer. The update should be in the list of important updates.

 

where exactly would i find it?

 

Search for the specific updates you need online.

 

What OS are you running?

 

hi you can find it in the start menu. you can also go to your my computer properties and edit it there.

 

Start menu > All Programs > Windows Update (It will be near the upper left.)
