Runescape Account Appraisal software?

What's up guys? :idea:

Been thinking about putting together a bit of software that'll allow the user to get a rough idea of the monetary value of their Runescape account. I've seen a lot of folks looking for a price check on their accounts, but I've never seen any guide out there giving solid pricing advice.

The software would take into consideration everything about the account - ie. Skill levels, account wealth, any recoveries or offenses. Might consider implementing a way for the program to pull various stats from the RS site and produce a unique, watermarked screenshot to prove account authenticity.

This could lead to some solid foundations for the Runescape account selling / buying 'industry'. No more guessing, and fairness to both the seller and the buyer. Would need some input on formulae for coming up with accurate prices, if anyone has any input?

Any thoughts? Worth a try, or is the RS account scene fine as is?

 

The idea of it is great. But in my opinion I dont think it would be that helpful Considering the prices of accounts are up and down. Runescape is getting less popular and the account prices seem to be dropping from a year ago. Bots are at the peak and can get multiple 99s without a ban. I have botted 7-8 99s with my bots and many other people have to.

Long stroy short. I think it would not be useful. Let us decide the price.

 

i agree with yo done son, prices to go up and down, and a big part of account sales have to do with the wealth which also veries in price alot. if you can make an option to put in the current prices of Mills i think it would be better. good luck.

 

I remember something vaguely similar to this a long time ago, in IRC. Far less sophisticated, it simply checked the name of the account via the highscores, and calculated a rough price based on those stats.

But you do have to wonder whether it would really be worth it. I agree with the above posts, that it really is very difficult, considering the constantly changing values of accounts.

I might work on a test app just to see how it turns out, but taking the replies into consideration, I don't think this software would catch on - the RS account scene is pretty erratic Maybe best not to interfere!
