well first of all, i dont think that u shud get vouches for giving out free usernames because its effortless and ur not supposed to vouch for free items unless it was like a skilling service, but making usernames and giving them out is an effortless service.

and if ur saying their vouching bc they gave u a free rs username, then u shudnt use that as evidence of trust in ur MM thread.

now that i think of it, i guess u cud vouch for giving a free username, but there just should be a different system of vouching, as in the person has to say what the trade was and only say the person is trustworthy if the voucher went first.
i still dont think it shud show trust in an MM thread though.

    Agreed.

There is no risk involved in giving free names, whatsoever. A vouch is defined as:
You can't give assurance if there was no trade. Also, the only instances where people are allowed to get vouches for 76k tricks is if the person receiving the trick pays. R2Pleasant has closed threads that involve free 76k tricks vouching.

    Vouch templates!

If you're vouching for a free service it should be implemented that you must say so, some wheres on the vouch; not doing so could result in a TWC, or a possible ban for trading vouches or giving them away to boost a friends business.

What about all of those vouches from highly trusted members, to their friends, highly doubt any of them were from an actual trade, and were given out for free just to boom their friends business.

Even though I'm guilty of taking 2 usernames from this person, I read this through and agree with the main subjects of this thread. I vouched for the person's generosity, not his trustworthiness, which will mean nothing in an actual trade with risks. The vouch template is a good idea that I have support for. Free skilling services should be allowed, but the person who should be getting the vouch is the person agreeing to let the trainer access their account, because they're the ones who are risking something.

    Lululul irony.

I agree it shouldn't be allowed to vouch for all those tiny things (1-10 fishing etc)

But what can you do about it?

No support, the trust a vouch gives is perceived, so why does it matter if he accumulates these vouches? They wont do much if no one gives them value.

Although it would be nice to make it so vouches were more regulated, there really isn't a way to. Making rules about what you can and can not vouch for would create confusion and complicate matters quite a lot.

I don't see a problem with it, honestly.
Doing a free service for someone and not stealing their account proves that you are trusted.
People can also just vouch, even if they haven't traded for you, because they know you are trusted.

I find both of these cases perfectly acceptable.

Also, vouching for free service is not against the rules, doing service for vouches is.

I think that vouches should be allowed for everything. If you personally want to dis-regard a users vouch, then you can do that. When hiring a person, check their vouch thread, and just ignore vouches you don't think are warrented.

Not really. All you did was make it seem you have more by saying Vouches that don't mean anything. My perception.

If a person with 1 post gave you a free name would you trust him/her enough to go first to for $20 trade? Also what I've learnt is that nobody really reads vouches but more looks at how many they have.
As said above, people don't read everyone of them. But, they do just look how many there is and go 'oh he looks trustworthy'.

Also 1 hit pk 0oo, wouldn't you say you are getting people to spam your thread with vouches? A section was created just for vouches and I'm pretty sure that's where they are meant to go. Also, could you answer this 1 question: Why do you ask people to place a vouch in your Middle Man thread when there is a special spot just for your vouches?

No, but if I saw a $500 dollar vouch I wouldn't trust it either, because I don't put any value into vouches. If the person doesn't look at the vouch its their own fault.

100% support. It gains no trust for someone to make an account. I don't think tutorial island completing should be vouchable either, but it might gain some trust in a way, but still nothing to vouch over.

VOUCHES ARE ONLY WORTH WHAT THEY INVOLVE

STOP THINKING THAT EACH VOUCH IS THE SAME AND THAT YOU HAVE TO COLLECT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF THEM TO BECOME TRUSTED

Jesus Christ, a majority of the people who posted in this thread are fucking morons. We need requirements involving tests for the suggestion forum, this is getting ridiculous.

People can vouch for whatever the fuck they want, it's you're responsibility to stop being such a lazy fuck and read through the vouches to see if any of them are worth the hard disk space they are stored on.
