Reasonable suggestion.

I thought of this after homework help was added.

My suggestion is that we move Homework Help, and possibly Personal Support, to the User Education section. Off-topic has normally been a place for discussion, and the above two sections limit discussion, they are more of a place for asking help, a feature of what User Education has always been.

We can make it so that it looks like this:
- User Applications
- User Submitted guides
- Help and Requests
-> Personal support
-> Homework help

I agree with the homework help but not really with the Personal Support section.

 

Then you would probably have to change the user education process and possibly fire quite a few of the user educators. The process would have include not only making guides but also showing that you are educated enough to answer college level questions and personally nice enough to handle PSA questions with a sense of comfort.

 

I do not have a problem with this at all. I've always wanted an amendment to the application process, and this could be somewhat of a chance to put this into place.

If so I can't see why not it would help with ways to do math and tips and tricks?

Honestly, guides need to be removed all together. Users should be judged for the quality of their helpfulness, not for their ability to write guides, but for their ability to assist others and provide quality information on the spot where it's useful.

Guides are pointless, except to boost SEO, somewhat.

I would not mind seeing a merge, but a complete revamp of the way User Education works is in order.

I definitely agree with Homework Help. Personal Support...eh it'd be better staying where it is.

 

I've tried changing the process before and its never gotten far. I wish you luck. This suggestion does make sense though. A UE overhaul could be in order to make this work.
