Then your basically suggesting that we stay with the way we are now saying that you can be banned for breaking Sythe.org rules no matter where or when you broke them, which I don't think is fair. Banning for offsite phishing doesn't help anyone. Whats a ban help in that situation?

I suggested a temp ban. And There is a diffrience between insulting people (I consider this a average offence) and phising. You could say a minor offence almost says nothing about a persons character, average offences a little and major a lot.

What point would the temp bans have?

It would be a punishment, but it would also give them a seccond chance. So it's not as severe as a perm ban.

Why do they need to be punished by Sythe for something that is not Sythe's business?

Why do you put someone in jail because he killed someone else? It's because killing someone tells you something about someone's character even though de didn't do something to you. If you know someone does some very bad things, don't you think he is likely to do it again?

A temp ban doesn't have to be long. It could be a week, a few days or whatever. Preventing bad things is better than waiting for it to happen. See it as a warning.

Killing someone isn't a good analogy. Sythe is a community first and foremost. Punishing people for things that happen outside of Sythe is out-stepping the bounders in which Sythe has power. If I want to teach users how to phish on another site, but do absolutely nothing wrong on Sythe should Sythe punish me? The other site has nothing to do with Sythe and I shouldn't be held by Sythe.org rules everywhere I go on the internet.

Teaching someone to do something and actually doing it are two diffrient things. You have a point though. But do you think it's best to let scammers who recently scammed, let them go their way without atleast giving a good warning to the scammer or the community?

Most sites ban scammers. If someone scammed on another site and was banned they could be banned here too. But there would have to be proof that a scam actually took place and not just the word of the other site. Honestly. And it doesn't matter if you do it or not. Discussing phishing on Sythe will get you banned.

Then what about for example a admin of a forum scamming his/her own community. I doubt the admin will get banned. Don't you think the admin should be banned or atleast warned if there is valid proof of the scam?

EDIT: sorry about all those edits, but posting from a phone is quite hard to do without making mistakes :)

Then should scamming be an exception to the rule that if you do it outside of Sythe while on Sythe you are still banned?

I suggest a temp ban as warning if the person recently scammed. If the scammer hasn't scammed in a while (let's say 3 months), it could be the scammer changed. As for phising and other big offences, I'm not sure. Do you think someone who phised on another site has a big chance on phising here if he's being watched?

The only people that pose a threat to Sythe are those who are scamming on other sites. I've decided that I like the idea of temp bans instead of normal punishments, but still going with this suggestion. You will only get a temp ban for any rule breaks if you get punished on the other site in someway. Scamming could be an exception to the rule and if it can be proven that you have scammed outside of Sythe you can still be banned on Sythe, but just a temp ban with a TWC.

Okay that works. Temp bans make more sense anyways.

In my opinion, scamming outside Sythe should give a permanent ban on Sythe, as long as sufficient proof is provided. On the other hand, the rest of the offenses shouldn't give a ban on Sythe.

So as long as there is proof of scamming outside of Sythe regardless of whether or not they are banned on the site they should be perm banned? What is the reasoning behind this ban choice?

And should there be a diffrience between getting scammed for 1$ and 300$?

Yes. I see things that way because scammers are one of the biggest threats to Sythe (probably the biggest), so if they have the heart to scam outside Sythe, they could easily do the same here. In some special cases maybe a TWC and a temp ban could be suffice, but, in my opinion, on the rest of the cases permanent ban would be the best solution.

Obviously, that is what I think and others might see it in another way.

    EDIT:
It would depend on a lot of stuff, but mostly no I don't think there should be a difference.

No. There isn't any difference in the rules currently, so there shouldn't be in this either.
