TWC|Offence for People Who Log in IN GAME Account During "Account Upgrade Services"

Just to ward off the snoopy/scamming people, can it be considered an offence for people who log in to your Runescape account IN GAME, when "upgrading your account". They have absolutely no reason to log into your Runescape account In-game whilst "upgrading your account". Should they log into your account during the services, that would only suggest they are a snoopy(perhaps even shady/scammer) person.


What they can do is take screenies of your account/bank/items, blot out the name, some stats and claim that they are selling the account/bank/items. Nothing can prevent this(a Bank PIN could possible stop the Bank/Items screenie'ing possibility but they can still claim they are selling the account. It's just a possibility, but as I said, what's to stop them?


Reporting people should be relatively easy, all the victim has to do(if the person who upgraded their account logged in IN-GAME) is take a screenie of the IP during the log-in screen, and show their actual IP then report the seller.



Just a humble suggestion. Hate it or Love it, just Rate it.

Why dont you get them to meet you in game and confirm? thats easyer .

 

100% support. Many customers talk to me about it, afraid I'm going to login and drop their wealth.

The simple fix it, while someone is upgrading your account, login to the game, it doesn't interfere with their upgrading at the main menu.

 

Definitely support this. I hate it when I log into a freshly upgraded account and then see someone else's IP. It pisses me off, and makes me wonder what they did. >_< But meh, I like Cory's idea ^^ log into your own account while they are upgrading. I never thought of that. rofl. Thanks ^_^

Am i missing something or is the upgrade just like buying a "you know what". They don't need to log in? Just teamview it? I just bought an upgrade yesterday..

For them to upgrade the account you need to give them the password, and from there what is stopping them from logging on your account in-game and snooping around?

...and not everyone can opt for applying the PIN via TeamViewer.

Id agree with a TWC cause there isnt any reason for them to log in to your account in game. But yeah what they said above just login and that way they cant

 

Well if you are going to log in for them via a program like TeamViewer, we can't make everyone use it it just becomes more inconvenient. Although that is the safer method indeed.

 

Scammers would use proxy then and you would not be able to proove.

Support. Although any one that says they need to log into your account in game is probably a scammer and I would suggest not trading with them.

 

Couldn't this also lead to your runescape account being banned for RWT? Looks pretty suspicious logging out from one IP addresses to the next within minutes from each other, especially if its different locations across the world. Pretty sure this is how I got banned using gold4RS.

 

Yep, my PMod friend said that any log-in that takes place from a different country and any interactions done in that period *trading/tricks(killing another person)/etc. etc.* get alerted and placed on something like a priority queue, the higher priority get investigated manually and are perm.

All the more reason to make it considered infractable/TWC'able for Account Upgraders to log-in game in people's account.

 

If someone is dumb enough to not take precautions, like TeamViewer or Vidding the trade, then I figure that as their own fault.

 

It takes two to tango, your response is just as inadequate as the op logging into someone else's account during a user upgrade; out of pure curiosity or whatever their bad intentions might be. With bad choices, comes consequence's regardless of the buyer not taking the proper precautions before trading.

 

Logically, that makes no sense when viewed in light of the suggestion that someone log into their own account when another party is upgrading would set off the same red flags as the up grader logging into that account, since the IP of the person making payments is also logged.
