    Mosque near Ground Zero

Muslims in America are going to be slightly "oppressed" for anything they do for a while.

After a few generations, the prevalence of 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation Muslims and Arabs will emerge and you'll see that we are infact a smart people who are family oriented and place a high standard on education.

Many people have the misconception of thinking "Mozlemz and A-rabs dey livin in de desertz dey gonna come here like da mexicans and blacks and take ur jobz"

That's pretty false. Average Arab income is around $70k, Jewish around $75k, White American around $50k, and I forgot about the others.

Once people emerge from the facade that the Muslims/Arabs are trying to take over their countries and convert them, they will then realize that we are a very motivated, educated and sometimes overly kind group of people :p

I like to ask the question of why don't people pay any attention to the Armenians? They suffered from a terrible genocide in the early 1900's (1915-1923) and 1.5 million Armenians died.

Yet the country, called Israel who brings up the Holocaust anytime it benefits them (100% of the time), don't even recognize the Armenian genocide. Is that not hypocrisy?

Guess who took the Armenians into their countries and treated them as GUESTS like anyone who comes into your home. THE EVIL ARABS.

If you really care about the atrocities of the world, you have to look at everything and not just be vocal about the subjects which benefit you.

Unfortunately, politicians have to do this because why would they defend innocent people or support good changes when 60% (just a number) oppose it even though its better for the country.

You're all being played by participating in the park51 (Cordoba House) political game. They dubbed it "Ground zero mosque" to make it appear as if the Muslims were building ONTOP of Ground Zero. They're not. It's 2 blocks away.

It's going to be a community center. Not a "mosque". A mosque is where Muslims gather to pray. This just happens to have a mosque in it.

Do you call an airport with a place for Muslims to pray, a mosque? Nope.

You people opposing it are the first people to complain to the "moderate Muslims" about doing something against the "extremists"

Yet, they fail to realize the Park51 project (Ground Zero mosque to you fox news whores) is actually a slap in the face to the extremists. It promotes interfaith dialogue and encourages peaceful relations to people regardless of faith.

This is against all forms of misinterpreted, radical Islam.

Research for yourselves people. Don't let people do it for you 24/7. Stand up for the liberties which make America a great place.

You are completely racist, have you read a single page of the Quran? I have, cover to cover. And not some English translation either, I read it in its original Arabic and I can say with certainty, you sir have no idea what you're talking about.

    EDIT:
Please tell me that you people already knew that it wasn't on top of ground zero?

The fundamental idea that we won't let it be put there is stupid. The terrorist attack was by a group, not a religion. If that logical was actually followed think of domestic terrorism, would we not allow churches, synagogues, and so on? The United States needs to get over this fear of Islam. It's been around for ages and people need to start learning to deal with it.

Side note: There are over 100 mosques in Manhattan. People just like to freak out over headlines.

The fact that's so close, and the the builders would even dare open it on 9/11 is just a seek for attention, and controversy.

They should at least show us the respect to hold it off one more day.

I don't think some of you understand that there are 600,000 muslims living in New York City. Why are they building a mosque near Ground Zero? It's not to build controversy and hate, it's because people actually LIVE near there, and need a place to worship and practice their religion. What's wrong with building a mosque there?

Does it matter how many there are? It's land owned privately, and if they can afford it, they can build anything they want there. I'm sure there are many more churches in manhattan ....so why not have more mosques?

    That's pathetic.

Its not the muslims that caused 9/11 that are going to use the mosque and gain something out of it is it. Your example is wrong.
    A better example would be:
If someone from another religion bombed your house, killed your family, raped your sister etc. and then a different family from the same religion moved next door, would you have a problem? No, because they didn't bomb/kill/rape you narrow minded son of a fucking whore.

We know they CAN build it, but should they?

The only hypocrite I see here is you. That is there freedom of expression, just as building that mosque is the Muslims freedom of religion.

So don't call somebody pathetic, for taking full advantage of there rights. Just as the people you're defending are doing the same.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but they are still included as a terrorist group (Islamic Extremists). Muslim is a word for an adherent of Islam, for those of you who can't decipher the fancy wording. The fact of the matter is that we wouldn't be having this argument if Muslim Extremists didn't fly planes into our towers. They set a bad example for the whole Islamic culture, and this example will be held in peoples minds for many years to come. Just because it was only a couple Muslims doesn't mean that the cultural beliefs cannot be held responsible.

It's not ACTUALLY AT ground zero. It's blocks away. If it were even reasonably close I'd have an issue with it, but it's simply not.

If it were ontop of ground zero, that would be awful, but as of right now its nothing, I honestly dont see why people have a big problem with it.

I personally don't object to it being put there, however, putting it there will just cause more harm than good. All of the ignorant Americans will be like 'WTF! FUCKING MUSLIMS ATTACKED THERE AND THEY BUILD A MOSQUE TO CELEBRATE?!?!'

It wasn't the religion itself that attacked us, it was a group of extremists that did it. People don't seem to realize it.

If it is built, there will be so many hate crimes such as vandalism, beatings, etc.

I Disagree completely building it next to ground zero, especially when there are already enough of them in this area.

In my personal opinion letting this happen is like letting a bully spit on you after he just got done kicking your ass, one step too far.

What a piss take, its a memorial site over 2 thousand people lost their life's there.. should be kept as a remembrance site. As for the mosque the builders are fully aware to what their doing I couldn't think up the intentions of why they would pick such a location....
    beats me...

Obviously it's be supported by the constitution, but I seriously cannot begin to imagine the rationale for doing something so problematic.
