Notifications!

I Think Sythe should introduce notifications!

If you comment on someone's thread and totally forget what it was
then you would have a notification saying what thread you have commented on.

Also when you get Him/Her Commenting back you don't know because there is nothing telling you that they have commented back!

It might just be me but I hate commenting on someone's thread and keep having to find the the thread again to see if you got a reply.

Also when you are commenting on multiple threads you just can't keep track on who's thread you have commented on.

And when you make you're own thread and people comment on it you just won't have a clue.

So That's why i think Sythe should bring in notifications!

Sounds like a good idea, but you need a way of preventing it as well. I mean if you were just to comment first saying like wrong section or something you would get a new notification when you wouldnt actually be wanting to keep an eye on the thread.

I support but it needs to be thought about in detail.

 

Support but it would get so annoying sometimes, like really popular threads.

 

You could choose the option to "not notificate updates of this thread".

Support, but could be hard to implement... Look at Finn's stickied thread.

 

Or only get the notification if your post is Quoted

If you did comment on a popular thread or comment on someone's thread saying wrong section you could choose not to receive notifications for this thread, (Fedora) Idea!

 

Can't you just subscribe to threads already?

Yes but that emails you, correct? I think that the OP is suggesting something like the FaceBook notifications or something along those lines

I support this. Its hard when your doing like 10 different conversations on different threads and then you forget about one.

Ofc thats an option, but you would rather do that than have something then tells you that you have a response, and you can get linked directly to it?

and if you post a lot, then it may take a while to find the post your looking for

Not very practical. Implementation would be very difficult, and programming it would be a bitch.

You can just subscribe to the thread.

 

When you subscribe to a thread it e-mails you, why does everyone want to log into there e-mail to look at a thread wouldn't it be a lot easier to get a notification on the website, also i never said it could be done instanally it would take some time to program it but it would be a good feature to have!
