Upgrade services?

I am beyond confused regarding aforementioned upgrade services.

Does one make a profit from them? How do you go about doing this stuff?

I really want to know; I plan to open up an upgrades shop in the near future.

 

As much as I hate to bump this, let alone double post, I really would like an explanation... I'm kind of confused.

 

The upgrade service section was made because the membership sale section was advertising illegal activity on site. While the upgrade service is used to prevent illegal issues happening to Sythe. There's more to it, but I'm to lazy to add on. If I'm wrong, could someone else please fix this

 

I don't really know how you can make a profit off this. I think the only thing you can get is trust.

 

Wait isnt this the same thing as pin sales except you the seller has to put the pin on the account? I believe thats all that it is so you would make the same profit as selling the pin itself.

Pins must not exchange hands as most of them are illegal and if any action was taken by Jagex or phone company's etc. Sythe could lose his website, possibly be sued etc.

 

I think I have this down...

Person A is the seller.

Person B gives Person A his/her account. Person A adds membership in some form to Person B's account. Person B pays Person A.

Exactly. The only reason it's called an account upgrade is because the seller him/herself is going on the account and 'upgrading' it without the actual exchange of the membership pin itself.

 

Yep, that's exactly how it works. ^
Most people that have upgrading services, obtain the membership through PINs, and so instead of saying they are selling PINs (which is now against the rules), you simply 'upgrade' another person's account. It is harder to start an upgrade service without being trusted, because you have to give the seller your account info, instead of just redeeming a PIN through TeamViewer Oh well, I've gotten over it. ;p
