    Sythe Interview: Brendan W

I decided to do a good friend of mine, Brendan :)

Hello there Brendan. Are you ready to start the interview?
    Yep :D

Okay first of all, do you have any hobbies?
Yep. My main hobby is football (Soccer for all you americans.) Others include Gaming and hanging out with my friends.

Oh. What kind of gaming? Outdoors stuff or computer games? What games specifically?
Computer games. I generally play sport games (Like Fifa10) but I do still play others like Runescape.

Do you have any brothers or sisters? How is your relationship with them
Yep. Two sisters. First theres my older sister, Rebecca. We get along reasonably well. Then theres my little sister Kaitlin. Her and I get along really well.

Do you do any GFX at all?
Nope. I've never really been great with art.

What do you aspire to be when you're older?
My lifelong dream has always been to become a professional football player. However I'm starting too think I'm getting a little to old for that. So hopefully something to do with Finance/Banking. I don't mind maths that much :p

How are you doing in school?
In most subjects. Alright. In my recent half yearly I got 96% in Maths, 86% in Science and 92% in English.

That's excellent! Congratulations. Do you have any pets?
Plenty! My family currently have two dogs, a cat, 5 chickens, a rooster, countless pet fish and a small turtle.

Do you have many friends? How about best friends?
Yeah I have a large amount of friends. Best-Friend wise i'd say I have two. One of them has been a friend since I was 3. We share the same sporting passion and are really alike. The other is like a little sister too me. She's always been there for me and means heaps.

Are you in a relationship at the moment?
    Technically, No :p

What do you mean by that?
Theres a girl I like who also likes me, yet we're not officially together (Yet!)

Why did you join Sythe in the first place?
Originally, to get cheaper Runescape Membership and to sell some old Runescape accounts

Who are some of your best friends on Sythe?
The most notable ones however are Plznate, Surround Sound, Rhodesy, Finn and of course you Necro

Do you have any bad habits?
Probably just chewing on my fingernails.

Do you have any pet peeves?
Umm, off the top of my head, not really.

If you could describe yourself in 1 word, how would you describe yourself?
    Energetic

What, in your opinion, is your biggest contribution to Sythe?
Being a part of Sythe's amazing UE team and doing what I can too help

Before we end the interview, do you think there should be anything the community should know about you?
If you want to get too know me more feel free to personal message me for my MSN :p

Thanks for reading. I'd be grateful if you could suggest what kind of new questions y'all want.

Good interview, I think you should go into more questioning though. Dig a bit deeper.

I have two suggestions for you.

First of all: I'd suggest you ask the questions in some sort of order. I think it's better to read then to jump from one subject to the other (so from hobbies to private to a random question):

I would try to ask global questions to start the conversation off, then try to ask specific questions about the subject you just started. Once you hear something you find quite interesting and are out of questions for the current question you can jump to that 'new' subject by asking a global question about it again. (I hope you understand what I mean, because I find it very hard to explain what I mean in English.)

Secondly: Don't ask questions with answer already in them. The third question is for me a really good example:
Keep this question open. Let the person you're interviewing tell you something.

So I would try something along the line of this:

    - Do you have any hobbies?
*His answer was: main hobby: football, gaming and hanging out with friends.
My next question would be something about his main hobby. I'd like to know more about that. Think about his own football expierence, his football level, for wich football club he is currently playing football and then I would ask if he also plays some computer games about football (--> relating to his 'gaming' answer). If that's yes or no, you can always ask if he plays more games. If so, wich ones? And why?

This is just my opinion about it.. I hope you understand what I'm trying to tell.:)

But besides of these suggestions I also have to give you some credits. ^_^

I really like the first question you've asked him. It's a good question to ask for yourself and for the person you're interviewing. It gives you a chance to start thinking about some questions or subjects you'd like to ask and give the person you're interviewing some sort of relaxing mood (I'm calling it like this, because I don't know how to call it else. :p). So that's really a big plus IMO. :D

Nice to know more about you, Brendan :)

I think the questions keep changing subjects. Ask questions with the same subject first and then slowly move on to a new topic. Also, ask more questions.

They were fairly basic questions. I agree with some of the other posts. Ask a few more questions to really "know" the person. Kind of a quick interview. NOt bad though.

No offence but was a bit 'boring' in terms of the general questions that you asked. You should have asked more about runescape/sythe imo.

From my previous interviews, hardly anyone wanted to know about Runescape or Sythe.

Thanks all! I'll take your suggestions on board.

Hmm I'm going to make a thread where y'all can suggest questions for interviews. The format would be something like this:

Sound good? Just so I know who the community wants interviewed and what specific questions would they want to know about the interviewee.
