I really dont understand why they crack down on botting

Let me bring a point up that makes sense to me

8/10 botters are p2p right? lets say they pay the actual amount of money monthly rs costs, so $8 a month, 8 X 12 = 96 so $96 a year.

lets say 1,000 botters pay for members, thats 96grand a year. now there are probably 100k+ botters in rs atm. thats like 9.6mil dollars a year right? then why do they cut down on botting? a good arguement is that alot of the members are from stolen credit cards or *******s... 9/10 times jagex wont lose money off these *******s.

i wanna know your opinions honestly im just puzzled.

blurred out words = rs pins.

because they want to make the game "fair".. even though an extra 96 grand a year would be nice but you realize that there are a lot of members already so if they can pay there employees enough and have the extra money left over for them then theres not much to do but try to make the game as "fun" and "fair" as possible..

even though rwt and the wildy would bring back hunderds apon thousands of of rs members, jagex has always made it big that the game is fair

Yeah the reason why they took free trade, was due to accounts been created from stolen credit cards etc. And from what i heard, a couple major banks where going to take jagex to caught etc.

There are a hell of lot botters out there, skill botters i dont care for ...such as wood cutters etc because you dont fight for supplys inlike the gdk bots which now are crowed. I own the script and used to make 400=700k an hour on my main. I now dont use it cause every world is packed full of bots. And that and i am close to 91 rc :)

To be honest, jagex probally dont care that much..they want come out and say "who cares if you bot" cause then every one be doing it.

thats my 2 cents....Also i hate noobs who bot naked still, risk rune or something. !!! please guys, lets stay under cover, not other huge bot ban like in old days.

Legit players complain about bots and cancel their memberships. Botters may account for more money than what was lost for non-botters, but Jagex wants to look like they are doing the right thing.

They try to make the game "fair" to people who don't bot. It is really unfair if you don't bot and yet some one does bot but doesn't ever get punished. If this were the case every one would bot and a ton of great players would quit.

It's apparent that if consequences for botting were removed and it was publicly known, everyone would bot. Bans deter people from botting and preserve interest for legitimate players.

It's been said before, but I think they care more about their image as anti-bot in the eyes of their many legitimate players than they care about actual botters. Imagine the mass exodus of people who sit on their computers and labor for days on end if Jagex were to take the official position of bots being acceptable.

The real players feel that their gaming experience is compromised by botters and will cancel their membership. They'll also rant about it in the RS Forums and RS would get a bad rep etc.

Even though Jagex makes a lot of money off memberships, I think they'd prefer to have real people actually play and enjoy their game.

It's basically a unfair advantage for those who actually waste their time on the game and get every 99 legit while we just sit back and let a bot do it and not have to worry about wasting our time on the game while we make the same amount of money and gain the same amount of xp :)

You've got a community of players that play fairly, and legit. In the game they see people botting, taking their spots, leveling up fast etc. They're going to complain, if Jagex did nothing about this people would stop playing altogether.

Because, they ban one account. Then the botters make another account and also make it a member. That's 2 memberships in a month(or so). Double money

The only reason is because they're not aware of those statistics. They want to please the legit paying members rather than the botting paying members.

funny thing is. I feel the amount of rwt and cheating is worse then before they took away trade and wild. Its just not as visible.

They dont ban all botters, but ban most of them or else the community will collaspe and go against them.

They know without botters, the economy of the game will be fucked, so they will never do a mass ban imo.

    Cause think about it...

When one of your accounts get banned after you've paid for the members most likely you'll just make another one members.

Also a lot of botters use *******s. Or pins that come from *******s.

Jagex cracks down on botting because of Chinese gold farmers that used to(some still exist) make accounts and then bot something for weeks at end and sell the product, and make lets say 100M from those, and then they sell them, but Chinese gold farmers don't pay for membership, most of them use stolen credit cards, so Jagex gets sued, and not the damn chinks.

Cheating for sure, but rwt not even close.

Ontopic: They probably realized that botters were well aware of the risks and played the system. Getting 3 chances= at minimum a good 3-4 months of 24/7 botting before any sort of real reprecussions.
