I Chriscross23, claim that the guides I have included in my application are completely my own work. They were made using my own knowledge and I have not plagiarized another person's work. I accept that if my guides are found to be plagiarized, even partially, I will be forumbanned from User Education indefinitely

Why I should be a User Educator​

I should be a user educator for many reasons. One of these reasons is because I immensely enjoy helping people. After I take the time to help someone else during their day it just makes me feel better knowing I helped someone and made a positive impact on their internet life. It makes me feel even better knowing I helped someone with their IRL problems which is why I've been getting active in the Personal support forum. Also, I enjoy knowing my time spent is actually helping people. It seems like the more time I spend helping people the more "thank you's" and such I get. Also I believe in karma so the more I help people one day it will come back and help me out.

Also, from what I heard from a few UE's my TwC is impeding my chance at becoming a UE. Let me say a few things about this.

I heard that the UE's thought I only wanted to become a UE to help remove my TwC.

Let me say that this is an incorrect statement. Before I even had my TwC I was applying for UE. Also UE has nothing to do with trading so why would I come here to rid my TwC. I already know what I have to do to get rid of my TwC and UE was definitely not one of those things.

Also I've heard that my TwC gives a bad image to the UE.

To that I say this can be true for the people who don't know me. But most people who know me still trust me and love me whether I had my TwC or not. Anyone who is active in the MMing forum can vouch for the fact that I used to be one of the top MM's (even with my TwC). Also like I stated earlier being a UE has nothing to do with trading. Me having a UE shows that I am a helpful person and that I will sacrifice my time to help another.

Thats all I have for why I should become a UE; if you're still not convinced I'm worthy maybe you should try talking with me over MSN and attempting to get to know me.

About me​

I am 17 and entering my senior year in High School. I have been through more hardships in my life than most of you can imagine. I have made mistakes in my life but I feel like they have actually changed my life for the better. I am an athlete and I run Cross country for my school, play basketball and lacrosse. In school I sometimes don't do my homework because I have a lazy attitude when it comes to homework because it is so easy and boring.

I would like to begin by saying you talk about your TWC way too much. When I judge applicants I honestly couldn't care less about their reputation, rank, or vouch count. At the end of the day, what makes a UE is willingness and ability to help others. You don't necessarily have to be a guru at everything, but being able to specialize in one realm of knowledge is extremely valuable.

I also judge many people based on their writing style and "tone" when conversing. When I read your application I feel as if you churned it out for us to read. I would consider revising.

Also.. I always say that centering all the text is counterintuitive because it isn't necessarily attractive and it also is more stressful on the eyes.

 

My last application I didn't mention my TwC once and every single UE I spoke with gave me the same reason. "You should re-apply once TwC is gone" "TwC UE won't happen". So I was trying to shed light on the fact that TwC should not affect my UE status.

 

You can tell any UE that tells you this that your reputation should have nothing to do with educating others. I am also a firm believer that the UE rank should do nothing to bolster your reputation or status within the community. The UE rank serves as an indicator so members can recognize and contact us if they need help.

EDIT: Also when I suggested revision, I meant rewriting the entire thing. Honestly, I'm not sure why people never just write a few lines about why they should be UE and then elaborate on how their personality, writing style, personal experiences, interests, and knowledge (which should be supported with quotes from previous posts and other evidence). You are essentially writing a persuasive paragraph/essay.

 

I tried that two times before this and both times I was declined. I figured I needed to find out why I was declined considering I was told I had very strong guides. I was told it was my TwC so I decided this application I would actually spend time making an app that explains my TwC. And yes about 30 seconds ago I was told this by a UE..I will block out the name:

"dude im being honest with u, you nees to get rid of twc. ue dont like that. ik youd make a good ue. just that twc is holding u back. the team concluded that the twc rank would make the team look bad"

 

I think Chris will be an active User Educator. Im sure that if he gets in, he will continue to make quality guides and help out the community.

Chris would be a great UE. I talk to him often, hes intelligent and also very easy to talk to.

 

I liked your guides, they were well detailed and quite informative. My favorite was the guide to ventrilo, i've never personally used it but after reading your guide i think it is safe to say i would be able to successfully download and use it.

When writting the guides you should write in a more formal tone and check more for small mistakes. Altogether i don't think there were many, but i found a few. You also seem to enjoy using multitude of different colors through out your guides, which can be nice at times but truthfully i think this brings the look down a lot, choose one design for the guide and stick with it

I agree with xeleration about your TwC,how you included to much about your it. If you feel that your TwC is impairing your application it is understandable to include a sentence but i think you have to much. I know for me personally that would have no effect on how i felt about your application as the two aren't really related.

For the actual application it's self i think you could improve upon it by adding more, for example a positive feedback section on your guides or a bit about yourself. Also your colors are all over the place and there is no real pattern that makes it look appealing.

Always helful and quite intelligent. No doubt you'd do well as a UE.

This twc drama is overrated.

 

Makes sense for him to be a user educator. He has more experience than most people, ( I mean really hes been baned like 6 times and has a trade with caution). So, pretty much he can just tell people to do the opposite of what he did. Gl on your application. The karma Train goes choo choo.

 

I couldn't care less about the TwC. The fact remains that you write good guides and you've always been a fine, upstanding member of the community. That combined with your willingness to help people will make you a great UE.

Personally I think Chris would make a great UE because he's always very active on Sythe, so he'd be there to help anyone that needs assistance.

I think everyone knows the whole TWC drama and that really shouldn't be a reason to keep Chris back from becoming an UE.

The bottom line is that he writes great guides and is there too help people because he's highly active. That in my eyes fulfills most of the criteria for an UE.

I believe the qualities he possesses should be considered above his TwC.
