Addicted to energy drinks.

I am 14 years old and i feel im addicted to energy drinks..I know the health risks and everything..half of me wants to stop drinking energy drinks and the other half wants me to keep drinking energy drink..how much energy drinks i drink? I use to drink 1-2 per week but then i started drinking 3-4,4-5...ect and i ended up drinking 1 perday but its still getting worse..in the past 24 hours i have drank 5 energy drinks. 3 redbulls..2 monsters in the past 48 hours ive drank 7 energy drinks..4 redbulls 3 monsters..the thing im mostly afraaid of is drinking wayyy to much and then getting a kidney stone or worse..but I not only like the taste i like the cans i have 116 empty cans of different types of energy drinks ( yes i actually had to stop typing to count lol). So i don't know if its me or the energy drinks..and yes im drinking one now..

 

Your probably just addicted to the caffeine.

Ask yourself.. do you really enjoy the taste of an energy drink more than pop? Drink coffee and see if you still want an energy drink. Even pop has caffeine in it.

An energy drink addiction isn't that hard to go cold turkey.. there are plenty of caffeine alternatives.

 

You have to know what the real problems this has for your health and then, probably, before drinking another energy drink, you'll think it twice about it.

My uncle is a doctor and he's seen teens in the hospital because of drinking 4 Red Bulls in one hour.

 

I am not as big fan of pop it just gets old..I think I'm addicted to the ginseng in the energy drink..I like coffee too but it isn't addicting..it doesn't wake me up as much as an energy drink does. and for the taste..I love it! but still the good side of me makes me think about the health issues..it even says on the can i shouldn't drink more than 3 per day I definitely broke that rule. cuz now i have had 7 in the past 24 hours and still want some more..people are going to start calling me tweek (from south park)

 

I'm drinking 4 a day...

But i need energy to study, when exams are finished i don't drink 1 until the other exam period.

 

It sounds to me like you need something to keep you going. In all honesty I have a friend that drank energy drinks for years, and because of this he now has heart problems. I would suggest getting more sleep and being more active, as being active helps the body naturally become more energetic. Also, if you have trouble concentrating, talk to a doctor about prescribing you to Ritalin. Unfortunately, I have bought these from kids at my university around exam dates to help me study. In all honesty they do help me, and I see how they could potentially help someone with serious trouble in concentrating.

 

Well just know your heart cannot take 7 every day if you continue at that path.

You say you love the taste. Your bored of pop. That's all it is. Find another drink that has a taste you'll get addicted to. For some reason I think Mountain Dew is a lighter version of monster energy drink aha.

 

Its only 2 weeks, I'm a hyperactif person. But sometimes i need to study until 3 in the night... and i can't be active for the whooooole day. (uiversity) :s

 

If your using studying late as an excuse as to why you are drinking an excessive amount of energy drinks, your in the wrong. There are many other safer alternatives just as effective to stay up late.

 

it's not an excuse, with that my eyes wont close so easly.
+its not an addiction, after exams i never touch it.

 

i use to drink 2 mothers and 2 demons during work everyday its a waste of cash just switch to coffee.

btw if you want to stay up late just eat apples it does the trick.

 

I meant it's not an excuse to drink energy drinks because there are so many other ways to stay up out there.. other sources of caffeine.

 

yea I don't know why I am so addicted to them my friends can drink 1-2 and not have the erg to want more which to me is crazy and then the new Nitrous Monster came out like 2 months ago and i just had one of them and i love it ..it is 4:20 am here and the corner store opens at 8am..guess what i'm doing at that time and to tell u the truth im a night person i don't need energy drinks to stay up this late..i haven't slept in 2 days almost 3..i mostly need them for when i go back to school cuz i am very shy..but when i am hyped up on energy drinks damnn i can make megan fox want to date me.

 

yea thats what i cant get out of my head..im afraid of whats going to happen but its so hard to fight the erg..and if you think mountain dew taste like monster then you never tried AMP *hint* its made by mountain dew but has no kick wats so ever*

 

If you are a personable person on the energy drinks then you are a personable person off of them. Its all a matter of willpower. Energy drinks cannot give you that, I promise. Something I have done all my life that helps me with many situations is being able to stop, and think. Would I rather hit rock bottom and rely on others to help me out, or be able to realize what I am doing before it gets to the point where I do need help, and help myself? There is much more satisfaction in knowing you control yourself, especially when it comes to your own health. Think about this.

 

my mate had pretty much the same thing, he drank 1 a day for about a month..... got a kidney stone the next month. nothing serious but it looked like it hurt >.>

Yes, you can say it all you want I am being very impulsive with all of these energy drinks but what i can't understand is that energy drinks are the only thing i can find to be addicted to..it can be from soda to beer,cigarettes yes i even tested myself i had a whole cigarette once and did not have any erg to want more i feel so different I'm very sorry if i'm making it hard for you to help me...but my point is, is if i don't know if I can help myself with being addicted to energy drink i feel very different becuz every1 else can get addicted to stuff i cant but i can get addicted to stuff they cant and then me saying i cant sleep makes me sound even more weird...lol

 

wow if i drink so much i can sleep when i want :s but i can stay awake longer.

 

then you are very lucky i have had problems with sleeping even before i got addicted to energy drinks but i have sleeping medicine that helps alot
