Well Hard to really Tell, I mean Usain bolt is a tremendous athlete,hes very fast and has great wind and beats anyone who challenges him,but for different sports their is great athletes(Basketball,Kobe Bryant,Lebron James,Micheal Jordan) No one has really played all the sports, but I dont watch triathalons that much but they are great athlete's.

Michael Jordan - Basically the face of basketball
Babe Ruth - One of the most famous base ball players of all time
Jackie Robinson - Broke The color barrier in sports
Jesse Owens- Basically told Hitler you can stfu, amazing olympian
The list is endless and I think it would be hard to just label one greatest athlete

 

Tiger Woods, for his performances on and off the field.
Jk, probably Michael Jordan or Jesse Owens.

I couldn't name one above all other athletes so I'll name an athlete from a few sports.

Basketball: Michael Jordan
Football (American): Jim Brown or Jerry Rice
Soccer: Diego Maradonna
Baseball: Babe Ruth
Hockey: Wayne Gretzky
Golf: Tiger Woods
Boxing: Muhammed Ali
Tennis: Roger Federer
Swimming: Michael Phelps
Cycling: Lance Armstrong
Track and Field (don't know what else to call it): Usain Bolt

I wouldn't consider Wilt to be the greatest athlete of all time for one reason, he wouldn't be as good if he were playing with modern rules.

The 60s was A LOT harder then modern rules. Back then, they didn't care about little contact. Now if its physical, the whistle blows.

But it is hard when contact isn't hard.

 

It's a lot harder when you can't cherry pick the entire game.

 

It's a lot harder when you have to beat a team with 5-7 hall of famers. No modern teams have that.

It's difficult to determine who is the greatest Athlete/Sports player because there are so many different types of sport.

However, I think I'll go with Pele. He was an amazing footballer.
