Earlier today, Sythe changed the punishment for self-vouching from Permanent, to a 3-month ban. Alot of speculation of this applying to Plznate has gone around, and I; and I'm sure a few others, would like to know if this is correct.

If it does occur to him, I would appreciate it if you took the time to read this suggestion from a fellow sythe user:

"Some may see this as a ridiculous idea, however it's what I believe is fair.

I'll use Nate's case as an example. He was banned for creating two "Self-Vouches." He did this too start up and appear trustworthy. Nate never (or knowingly) scammed. I believe an adequate punishment is too start them from scratch. All ranks and vouches gone. I would say postcount too however they make cause issues. Give them a TWC and allow them to start from scratch."

I agree with this suggestion above, and I will again ask you a favor; take this into consideration. I believe in the old saying, "once a scammer, always a scammer" -- and personally I believe this corruption falls into the same account. If he comes back, he should have a greater punishment seeing that he was no common leecher, he was, in my opinion, a highly respected individual in which had OMM and various things stamped under his name.

This is a horrible suggestion. So just because you take away his 500 vouches he can just do any of the following:

A) Ask for people to vouch for him for being trustworthy.

B) Everyone knows who he is so the removing of vouches won't be a factor.


This is the most suitable punishment however removing ranks might be something they do.

 

So. Who's to say that 1/4 of the vouches he has are not corrupt? It would be suitable to make him start over, if nothing else is done.

I doubt that he would enjoy having to start from scratch; I know alot of people wouldn't. And besides, what about the new users that know nothing about him?

 

Sound familiar? He should be un banned and you should be rebanned for breaking sythe rules. (before i am infracted on accusing without evidence http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=909280&highlight=grave ). I agree with some degree i think he should be unbanned he has done so much for the community.

 

Don't be an idiot. There's no point in taking his vouches away. He's already earned the trust and respect of many.

 

The rules were different when he faked his vouches. Therefore, any changes in rules should not apply to any offense committed prior to the change.

 

You take his vouches away and I'll be first n the long line of people to instantly re-vouch him.

 

That scammer report was already dealt with. I mean I guess bringing up some shit that you know nothing about and attempting to make it into a credible post is is cool. But I don't think this topic is about me. Nor does my post reflect graves attempt to getting me banned.

 

Yes, and he also created fake vouches to 'earn' the trust and respect of many. Just because it was when he first joined, it doesn't mean he wouldn't/hasn't done it again. Once you do a FULL background check on every single one of his vouches, and see that the rest of them are legit, you may post calling me an idiot.

Innocent until proven guilty. So far they've found 2 vouches and you got 498 left. Enjoy.

You don't have to. Vouches can be given just cause you trust the person.

If you were ignoring it then why did you post in the first place? You just made the assumption that all of plznates vouches are faked until someone can prove they are legit. You have it backwards they are legit until they are proven to be fake.

 

You're asking us to check all 498 vouches to see if he vouched himself other than the two times? Preposterous!

Oh and removing his vouches and post count is useless. I'll also re-vouch him for the simple reason that I trust him. Just let him serve his ban and come back.

 

I never looked at any of Nate's vouches, and yet, I trust and respect him as the person he is. As far as I'm concerned, he never really used those vouches as part of the sales he was making. I just think it's kind of stupid for this issue to be constantly brought up when it's already been decided on. Plznate will come back after 3 months due to the new rule that WE voted on.

 

I was going to ignore it, for the simple fact the your last statement was ridiculously ironic.

He JUST got caught self vouching, and your telling me that hes not guilty? My statement was just an assumption, nothing more. Besides that point, Nate himself stated that he tried deleting "most" of his self-vouching, but apparently he didn't.

Who's to say he didnt delete alot more than he said he did?

Thats ridiculous, I never asked anything of the sort. All I was doing was simply asking that his punishment should be greater.

I never really had any thought about the removal of his vouches, it was just posted from another user and I happened to quote him. The main thing I was referring to, was his status removal, such as the OMM stamp.

 

Do you have any common sense left?
