How To Run Xbox Live Through Your Laptop!

This is my first guide, and hopefully I will have many guides added when the ideas come to my head. Don't be afraid to say positive or negative stuff towards my guide, it helps me improve them.

I will be using Windows 7 to do this, so it might look a little different if you have Windows XP for example, but this will work on your Operating System.

What you will need:
An Ethernet Cable that will be able to reach from your Laptop to your Xbox 360.

Step 1:
Grab your Ethernet Cable and Plug one side into your Laptop, and the other into the back of your Xbox 360.








Step 2:
Have your Xbox 360 Powered up, and on your Laptop, head to the following

Start/Control Panel:


Network and Internet:


View Network Status And Tasks:

Left Click On Your Internet Connection And Click Properties:



Sharing/Tick Both Boxes And Click OK.

Step 3:
Now Head Back to Network And Internet/Network And Sharing Center/Change Adapter Settings:

Now you should see Two Connections. Highlight them both, Right Click, And click Bridge Connections.





Now Turn on your Xbox 360, and try and connect to live. If you get an error, try the steps again, but this method should work 99% of the time.

Yeah, Youtube it though TBH too, but most likely, all you need to do is Bridge connections or Plug Directly in Router.

Ethernet Cords are sold by the foot up like I believe 100 feet, so yeah.

 

Yes it will. I just wrote this directed at Laptops because Laptops run off wireless and it saves buying the Wireless Adapter.

Very nice guide. Only problem is connecting through a laptop will give much worse connections then through a standard router.

 

I don't have any lag at all running it through my Laptop. I'm able to use the Laptop and Xbox Live at the same time, no lag.

 

Thats good. I just know back in the day many people had problems doing it that way. Glad to see its working better now.

 

Few complaints no offensive take it as criticism.

in most cases a normal cat5e cable will not work in bridging a connection.

You will most likely need a crossover cable. if you have taken cisco technology's you can just rewire the pins by buying a new head ^.^

yeah i use this but i never play xbox anymore, do you have to unbridge the connection everytime?

 

Nah, it just stays, unless you want to unbridge it, can't see why though.
