Well if they don't follow it their scammer reports hold no weight.

 

Support makes things just that little bit safer and stops all imposters (Which there is many of)

 

Lets gett more support on this even though he's banned.

 

Chris asked me to bump this for him because he felt that even though he's banned he still wanted to contribute to the site. Since it's a suggestion, I didn't think it would be too bad to bump a suggestion. If a moderator has a problem with this, delete my post or ask me to do it if you do not have the power to do so.

Now that Sythe has established the more-secure IRC network for trading (more secure than MSN I mean) one could argue that we could just ban MSN all together.

I'm not saying we should but then we wouldn't even need to send PMs, as the accounts on IRC are linked. (And I realise the IRC is in beta, I'm referring to once the kinks have been worked out).

 

Honestly, a bold step, but it is not one without reason. The amount of time and effort put into banning scammers and preventing scams is ridiculous. Once the IRC is secure, accepting only IRC recorded trades could be very effective, and would most certainly make the job of the staff easier as well as make trading safer.

It's a win-win. The only question is, is making the IRC a requirement for trading a good idea?

 

I personally don't use IRC haven't in years i really don't see much point reverting backwards.

The traffic coming into Sythe is too much to call the website's availability "reliable," and sometimes it's only down for certain people.

Lets say Person A is selling Person B an account.

Person A asks for a PM, the site is up for him.
Person B says the site is down.

Person A: "lol skammer reported im 12"

He's saying that forcing members to use the PM system to verify each others is like a dictatorship because you are making them do it. When he says communism, he doesn't mean about the economic standpoint of it, but the standpoint of there being 1 absolute leader and you follow everything he says.

Honestly, it's not like communism, it's basically libertarianism. Liberals are always cradle to the grave, and making your members PM each other for the sake of 'safety' is no different.

OT: No support, MSNs should be secure and you are responsible for it no matter how.
Also, if a MSN is hacked why would't a Sythe account?

MSN revertings are very easy to do and happen quite often. Many members get their MSN's reverted.

Imagine you are sleeping and your MSN get's reverted. You wake up and your MSN has scammed $1,200.

 

WHY is this not implemented yet?
