The sectionals are dropping like flies.
Over the past few days, they lost Spyike, Jimmy, Sindre, Kadaj, and now Gohan?
What is happening? And why did Gohan retire?
That's 9 moderator positions.

I'm sure there will be a mass promotion sometime this week.

 

Spyike --> Promoted
Jimmy --> Resigned
Sindrefyrn --> Demoted/Banned (leaking and perm. ban thread)
Kadaj --> Demoted/Banned (ban evading/false identity)
Gohanforever --> Suspended (pending discussion)

We'll probably be promoting some new staff soon. Please be patient.

I know, as Finn said, Spyike has been promoted. I was talking about sectional moderators in this thread.
Luckily, Spyike still does triple the spam reports of anyone else

But I'm glad Finn or whoever has taken the chance to ban corrupt mods etc...

 

Word on the street is that it is Spyike, Sin, and (possibly) Skele. But now that opportunities have opened up for new mods, everyone is being looked at more closely.

 

I'm also glad they asked for our opinions on who should become mod next

 

I am excited to see who will fill their places. I have a few guesses but nothing for sure yet. =)

 

I just want to point out that Gohan still seems to have permissions. Check Forum Leaders for more details.

 

I noticed that. Seems to happen a lot. We have lost a ton of sectionals... I don't see why Spike was promoted when it was obviously not needed. Globals out numbering sectionals is just sick.

 

When you have someone like Spyike on the mod team, who does as much as the rest of the sectionals combined, then I guess you could say his done his work as a sectional and deserves a raise.

 

But in setting with a hierarchy, even if you are amazing, you can not move up unless there is a place to fill. We need sectionals more than globals since they should be handling most of the major sectional clean up.

 

Or maybe you could say he was too valuable to promote =|

Spyike can now do spam reports in ALL sections, not just the market. Also, it would be strange to go from Global to Admin...considering he is probably in the top 2 for future admins.

He can now also perm ban all the vaders and scammers he finds.
His promotion was definitely a good thing.

 

Maybe staff should consider demoting globals to sectionals if there activity drops.

 

Most of the time globals activity does drop as they move from trying to keep one section clean to working on the entire forum so they do less. Some don't, but most do. Globals get more responsibilities also which takes up there time from cleaning the forum.

And demoting globals would have to be an admin decision, which... I don't think would happen. :/
