[Paying $50.00 Dollars] iPhone 3GS Problem [Paying $50.00 Dollars]

Well basicly, I bought an iPhone from someone on Sythe... It was unlocked and jailbroken. I didn't know you couldn't upgrade it manually on iTunes, well I upgraded it. It fucked up, It's stuck on a screen were theres a USB pointing to a iTunes logo. I did the whole restore thing, downloaded firmware but It didn't work, do you think I have the wrong firmware? I downloaded 4.01 ipsw​

Alright, I found the problem, I need to downgrade it, I changed the host file etc... But I need the correct firmware.

Yes, I downloaded 4.01 ipsw, didn't work. I think my iPhone is upgraded to something different.

Nty, fix it first. I have dealt with two people on powerbot who couldn't fix it... Keep refunding, no point.

 

Try and put it off, than back on. than degrade again?

Ask the user who you bought it of what firmware the iPhone was currenty on..
and get it from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

 

Hmm.. this might be a couple of days late; but thought I'd help out

Make sure its 4.0.1 -- it doesnt work on 4.0.2
Visit http://www.jailbreakme.com/ on your iphone -- quite simple , all you gots to do is slide to jailbreak.
Once that is done (the iphone is jailbreaked; now to unlock) --
Start "Cydia" - go to manage > sources > edit > add and enter: http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/


-- when done press Return to Cydia.
Click "done" (you should still be in the edit-part of manage sources).
Click on the source under "Entered by User" and then download Ultrasn0w.

Run the downloaded program, once that's done it should say either Return to Cydia or Reboot Device. -- If its Return to Cydia, just reboot the device manually; You do this by holding down the power button for 3 seconds then moving the power slider that appears to the right. Press the power button again to turn on the phone.

And that should pretty much fix it
