    I cannot prioritize...

To my priorize issue. This summer I was diagnosed with severes disease. This has to do with the the tendons and the growth plates on the bottom of your heal and I have not been able to go out side or have any fun this summer. I had to quit my travel lacrosse team and have basically sat around on sythe this whole summer. I am going into 9th grade and I am taking Honors Biology. I will be taking this 3 years ahead of any of my class mates and I have a huge research project to get done before school starts. I still haven't even gotten an Idea approved and I need to write a 3,000 - 5,000word research paper by the time summer is over ( 2 week). I and don't even have an Idea. This project is worth over 35% of my semester grade and 40% of my first quarter grade. I realize this but I still have no urge to get any of this done. I wonder If I'm just to damn addicted or I just have no motivation or prioritizing skills. Is there anything I should be doing?

PLEASE NO TROLLING I REP YOU IN A INSTANT

I wouldn't say you have a problem prioritizing, but a motivational issue and/or procrastination. You simple don't have the motivation to write the paper. As time nears, you'll most-likely realize the pressure on you and you will be VERY stressed out. Odds are, you'll still get it done, but you're not going to get an A. Most-likely a C/B

Idea wise, try google. Since it's a paper on Biology, try starting at a broad topic such as Life(Biology = Study of Life) and work your way down.
    Suggestions:
    Life Cycle
    Environment
    Cell Life
    Viruses, Bacteria, etc.

You can go in detail with these subjects and mention the finders etc. Lethan Van Hook on finding the Cell and creating the name off the Greeks rooms. (Correct me if I'm wrong, running off memory.)

Just think to yourself: Let's just get this over with so I can enjoy the rest of my summer.

I'd suggest taking a mental absence from your home computer and just going to a library for a day. It has all the resources you'll probably need for a successful report. Plus, in most libraries, you won't have much time to waste because games are sometimes blocked and you have a time limit on the computers.

As for prioritizing, I've had this problem before, too. Just think of what would happen if you don't finish - having sleepless nights and the exhausting all-nighter that is to occur if you don't get this done now. Also, it also helps if your parents contribute - as in give you ideas and set time restraints on the computer for leisure.

Honestly speaking you're still in high school. Many people, including myself, do not take high school very seriously. To give you some examples, i never did summer readings in 4 years of high school. I slept in most of my classes. I did not apply for colleges until 1 month before high school graduation. But now, i am a responsible adult. You learn to prioritize things with time. When you get in college, you realize that the slacking will not get you anywhere and you will learn to prioritize things. Hope you've finished that paper!! :p

Wow, for a second I thought you were my friend Keegan. He plays on my lacrosse team, was just diagnosed with severs disease in his heel, and has had to quit for a while, but he still occasionally comes to practice. Anyway, I feel you man, during my 7th, and 8th grade years, I thought I was going to flunk, and have to be held back because of how addicted I was to RuneScape. What I did, since I realized it, is one day I told my parents "Mom, Dad, take my computer away from me, and don't give it to me until the weekend comes and my homework is finished." Once I got that out of the way, I told myself every day, your too old for the game, grow up, you don't need it. And I just did everything I could to ignore it. I got through both years, and I am now in 9th grade, not addicted to RuneScape, but I do still play, AND get all of my work done. :) If you need any help with anything, add me on MSN. [email protected] I might have some of the same, or similar classes and projects as you.
