Apologise firstly, and make it obvious that they are wanted, they are a huge influence to you, and that they are loved. Just keep reiterating that their absence would be unimaginable, but without making it clear that you know of their plans to commit suicide.

 

I suggest you patch things up with him. Then talk to him and listen to his problems. Assure him that you'll be there for him. Offer him assistance. Inform his parents that he's suicidal.

Let them know how much they mean to you, don't let them feel like suicide is the right thing to do. Don't mention anything about the future, keep them in the present (here and now) - it's much easier for them to relate to, and confusion is exactly what they don't need. If they're a very close friend, take them out, have some fun like you would've when you were younger. If none of the advice above works for you, most of all, let them know that they mean the world to you. When times get tough, true friends stick together, remember that.

You need to apologize to him, it is key that he knows you are sorry for what you have done. Assure him that it will never happen again. You and his other friends need to team up and keep watch over him. All of you should keep a constant eye on him so he doesn't do anything irrational.
I'm not sure if you feel comfortable doing this, but the best thing to do would be to alert his parents or an older sibling of his intentions. They will be able to do the most and at the same time watch over him. If you don't feel you can do this, you could try to get one of your parents to talk to his parents about it. Hope this helps.

 

don't take it lightly. do whatever you can. if you live close to him invite him over or go to his house. tell his parents to keep an eye on him and let him cool down for few days and don't give him bs and lectures.

 

Approach the person soon as possible.. As others have posted, actual physical appearance would be preferable. Let him know you're sorry, and your views on the situation. If this doesn't seem to phase him, make sure you either warn his parents (not sure how old), or local authorities. Suicide should not be taken lightly.
