It should remained closed then, I haven't gotten negative credit from any pins I bought, but I don't want to take the risk. Most if not all the pins I purchased were from the AUS PBP. I purchased them from "Trusted" members, some are now banned, but some aren't. I'm not giving out any names because I don't have proof. But, it's a damn shame some got away from selling pins from pin lines.

I don't think selling pins from pin lines were officially against the rules of the site before this. All major pinsellers either used pin lines or had a cheap supplier who used pin lines.

Well what'll happen when we do this is the bulk pin sellers will just registar multiple accounts.

So someone is sitting with 15 respected sythe accounts, who's to say they wouldn't mind losing 5 or 6 to scam themselves potentially $1000s worth of accounts?

    This is true.

Also, you could be selling more then 1 pin, but the other person doesnt have to vouch for you. You can just discuss it over msn.

You guys are missing the point. This isn't supposed to be a perfect system where all the pins are legit - that, on a site like this, is impossible. Just as impossible as trying to ensure no paypal used to buy gp is frauded, no account sale is a scam, no real world item is stolen, etc.

In every single section on this site, there are illegal trades being made all the time. The membership section was singled out because of the perceived volume of the problem, and that is what this suggestion aims to resolve.

Will people try to find loopholes? Sure. People always do. But, I believe the hassle is enough to deter most.

    For example:
A seller can't get away with selling too many pins. If they're allowed to sell 3, and try selling 30, chances are that at least one of the members they attempt to sell to will report being asked to conceal the trade.

Earning reputation isn't quick or easy. Moving 30 pins would take 10 accounts, and there are probably quicker ways of turning a profit on this site. Again, some may do it, but the point is to deter the majority.

As much as I want the pin forum back, I do not support this idea. The fundamental reason in removing the forum was to stop illegal pins from being sold. Your suggestion stops them being sold for a profit, but it still does not stop them from being sold, and therefore there is not much point.

I just want the pinforum back in one way or another.

I don't think there's a single way to tell a fake from a real pin.
if there was, wouldn't jagex have banned all these pins?

Agreed I think the Pins would of had been banned. I have bought about 5 pins on sythe, and all of them worked and none of my accounts were banned. I have had accounts banned before on membership issues. NONE involving pins however.

Then you should basically close every market then? Xbox, microsoft points, giftcards, those for example, Do people legitly spend their money on those cards only to sell for half the price - no, so should you stop the sale of that too?

Runescape accounts, whos to say most of the accounts on their weren't phished? This is a black market and thats what people come to expect.

PS. I have tried powerbot*** and gamerzplanet*** to buy pins this WHOLE day, not one person responded. Sythe is the main place.

Try Fagex.net for pins, sorry for advertising.

I suggest Sythe and other admins go around to people claiming to be selling legitimate pins, "trusted people obviously" and seeing if they are legitimate. That way there could be a few main sellers and staff could just check up on the pins to check they're not from *******s.
