Scamming scammers.

I think it's fine.
I see no moral problems with it whatsoever.

However, I believe that it should DEFINATELY not be allowed here on Sythe. It'd get far too chaotic with "he scammed me first" etcs flying all over the place.

 

Not the correct way to handle it, although the scammer deserved it.

As said above me, if it were allowed it would get way out of control.

 

I wouldn't have a problem with someone counter-scamming the same amount of cash scammed from a scammer.

 

If someone is banned for scamming, In my opinion, you deserve to be able to withdraw your payments or recover the accounts traded with the person.

If the trade with you was legit, there's no reason that you should scam them, but if someone scams YOU, then you should be able to... hmm. here:
two people.
person 1 - Ryan (For explanation purposes only)
person 2 - Josh ("---------------------------")

Ryan and Josh trade Ryan's money for Josh's account, both are satisfied. Low amount trade, eg. $30

Ryan later sells an account do Josh for $200, but scams him.

In my opinion, Josh should be able to recover his account from the first trade, if this makes sense at all.

 

As I was always taught in my house "two wrongs don't make a right" If you scam the scammer you've been degraded to the very thing you loathe.

 

I understand what your saying: Amends should be made for the grievance committed.

 

Would be good to see how it feels to get scammed (for the scammer). But two wrongs do not make a right.

 

It is not moral because it serves a purpose which exercises partiality instead of justice. One profits from a scam, and law is supposed to be completely divorced from such temptations.

 

I think you should scam your items back. This is like what repo men do. If someone scams me.. I will do everything in my power to get my items back or make that persons life a living hell.

It's more of deceiving than scamming. You aren't scamming the scammer because it wasn't his possession(s) to begin with. You are returning the items to the owner. If the person who tricks the scammer receives anything from the scammer, than he is no different from the scammer himself.

 

What if they scammed you, and you somehow managed to scam them back. Yeah two wrongs don't make a right, but it's some fucking justice atleast.

 

If someone scammed me and I had the chance to scam back the same amount they scammed me hell yeah I would do it. My money doesn't belong to him in the first place so I look at it as he borrowed some money and he paid me back.

If one is scammed, they should take what means they can in an attempt to recover what was lost. In the event that one is unable to do so, counter-scamming is not something I would encourage, and it is also against the rules.

Also, I don't believe this is grounds for an intelligent discussion.

If someone stole off of me, and I stole from the person that stole off of me, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Even in RL. Even If I stole more then they stole off of me, I wouldn't care, they got what they had coming to them.

As for scamming a scammer on sythe, no that should not be a loud, that makes things way more chaotic then it should be.

 

Scamming is scamming, it doesn't matter who's doing it, its still wrong.

Example

"Yo dude, Johnny just got shot, lets go shoot the guy who shot Johnny, to get revenge for Johnny."

If this was reality and more people took action then just getting someone banned from a website, and you stole from someone who stole from you, you'd both go to jail.

 

How, though, can you pinpoint the reason for the second scam being to exercise justice as opposed to monetary gain?
