How can I help little kids in Africa?

I really want to help the starving kids in Africa, or anywhere for that matter, but I don't want to do it by donating money or joining another group. For me, sending money, no matter how much, just doesn't feel like its enough.

My plan is to travel to Africa with two friends and find someone on the brink of death, and help them with everything I got. Please if you think I'm crazy that's fine, but if there is anyone out there who knows that this is possible and could give me some direction, it would mean a lot.​

 

How old are you? If you are over 18, the Peace Corps is a great option. Your options are limited if you are under 18, but if you are younger, there are still some options.

Just google it, or ask the community service representative at your school (if there is one) to get active.

Most of the other's, including Australian Youth Ambassadors, require you to be 18. I'll keep searching and get back to you.

Remember, you can't just make this trip to achieve some feeling of saving. You can do it to achieve purpose, but remember, you aren't just going to walk up to a baby and be able to save it from certain death. You will be living in terrible conditions, you will eat inexpensive food, you may be shitting in an outhouse, it will be very difficult compared to your normal life, and you will have to cope with that. Additionally, you will see refuge camps of thousands of people, all with hard looks on their faces, all having gone through worse things that you have ever seen in their life. You will need to have the courage to continue on through this.

 

Your an awesome person! that's the spirit everybody should have. I also wan't to help the needy when I'm older I'll most likely do that on my gap year or something.

 

This is exactly what I want to do, live in there conditions, I honestly want to help every single homeless, starving child! Thank you.

If you are serious, just sign up at the Peace Corp. You could also donate money, clothes, food, water, etc to certain organizations that specialize in this type of things.

 

You'll just get mugged. Most money sent to africa is intercepted by warlords and used to buy weapons. Haiti barely got any of the money sent to it

Donate to something local around you. Assuming you have those in Australia.
