[Guide] What is KickBox. [Guide]

First about me: My name is Sercu. Im 16 years old. I've done MMA for 2 years and KickBox 1 year. I live in The Netherlands.


1. What is KickBox?.

KickBox is a fighting sport where you can use both hand's and legs to fight. The sport is orginal from Japan and the USA. The orgin from the KickBox in USA is a system to get fighters from different martial arts to compare with each other. The orgin from the KickBox in Japan is from Karate and with some influences of Muay Thai (Sort of Martial Arts).

2. Equipment.


KickBox does need some equipment. The basics you need : Boxing gloves , genital protector ( For Male's for under the belly zone & For Female's Breast zone.) , teeth protectors , short or long pants and finally bandages for your hands.

3. Matches.



In KickBoxing there are different match type's.
-Semi Contact : In semi contact the main goal is to score points with kicks & punches. A kick on the head is 3 Points. A kick to the body is 1 Point. A jump kick to the body is 2 Points. Each punch is worth 1 Point.

-Light Contact : In Light Contact you score points with kicks & punches and you are continuous fighting till the giving time / rounds are done. The match will be stopped sometimes because of an faul and then there will be given a warning or a penalty point. The winner is the person with the most points or the person who knocks the other person out.

-Full Contact : Allmost the same as Light Contact but it goes harder on this one. Knock outs are more frequently.

-Forms/ Kata's : You do an exercise wich will be vote'd by an jury. The person with the most points win.

You might want to get the name right before you write a guide on it, it's called Kickboxing.

 

it's called an abbreviation.

 

It's called you can't abbreviate a suffix.

 

Well sorry mr.smartass as you can see im not from UK & USA w.e.
It's called Kickbox here and not kickboxing. Also i can abbreviate it whenever i wan't because its mine guide. KTHXBAI.

I've never heard about light/semi/or full contact, you need to explain those more in depth and really explain what the difference is, I didnt find what the difference between those three. Also, There was also a couple of spelling errors that you can cleanup easily

 

Nice guide. I learnt a little from it. Well presented, etc.

The only fault is the grammar. There are a fair few mistakes, I appreciate english isn't your first language though.

Decent guide. Some pointers.

You could have expanded a bit more on the introduction regarding what exactly is kickboxing, where it originated from, and where it is popular etc.

You dont really explain the equipment very well. For example, yes you need gloves, but what sort? Do you use 4 oz open palm gloves, 12 oz full handed gloves, 16 z gloves? Minor details in equipment selection make a big difference.

You did an alright job of explaining the scoring system of a match, I personally have never competed in Kick boxing (Muay thai and MMA only), so not sure if that is accurate, I will assume it is ; )

The guide looks good visually, its clean and has some pictures. I just feel like you threw it together in about 5 minutes and made it look good, because you really only have about 2 paragraphs of actual text.

Not a bad effort, keep up the work.
