I think 9/11 would need to have involved alittle more than "10ish" people.

The mosque should be built. Some extremists even bomb mosques. Anyone who disagrees with it should be ok with any Americans not aloud to visit Japan.

Fucking A, i got enough of this while talking to my grandpa (Jewish).

what i believe is we all have the right to religous freedom in the USA. So they have the right to build it there, NO MATTER WHAT.

Are they kind of arrogant assholes for building a church to the same muslim belief that were responsible for the 9/11 attack? In my opinion yes.

All in all, i hope that it doesnt get built. i know its just to get the shit vandilized out of it.

I disagree with the mosque being built
I also find nothing of interest in Japan so I'm all for not being allowed to visit

You obviously hadn't been alive very long before the attacks, because Al-Qaeda had been around for a little over a decade before 9/11.

FYI, Al-Qaeda is an organization of over 500 that we know of. Al-Qaeda isn't the only organization involved, however. It'd be ridiculous to think we launched an invasion because of ten people, or even 500 for that matter.

*Waits for response blaming president Bush for everything, with something about oil-based motivation involved*

Again, most people don't hate Muslims in general. I do hate any Muslim who's actions reflect a hatred for this country, however. They can bitch all they want about our sinful ways, but I draw the line when even a single soul is harmed as a result of their hate. I don't think you give Americans enough credit, because we actually put up with a lot of people's shit.

Let me make this CLEAR to EVERYONE...

    1. Islam prohibits the loss of human life, Thus "Al Qaeda" who call themselves Muslims are not ACTUALLY following the rules of the religion, so THEY ARE NOT MUSLIMS. They can label themselves as Muslims (but this just tarnishes the image of EVERY PROPER MUSLIM).

    2. The land besides "Ground Zero" is owned by a Muslim person, he can build whatever he wants on HIS LAND (Government Approved that is).

So stop debating that "ohhh Muslims are terrorists and blew up the twin towers" BECAUSE WE FUCKING DIDN'T!!!!

Since when did you have to agree with every single thing in a religion to be part of that religion.

it's like saying you're not Republican because of one thing you disagree on.

It wasn't the Islamic religon that made Osama Bin Laden call for an attack on the USA. It was his hatred towards the USA. Same goes for the attacks on the London Buses, except different people.

Building a mosque wouldn't be a bad thing, but I can see that mosque being trashed in less than a year after being built, so it would be rather pointless to build it there. My opinon is, move it somewhere else, but I wouldn't have a problem with it being there.

PS folks, I'm from New York.

Calling yourself a Muslim doesn't necessarily mean your one that practices the religion... Muslim to terrorists is a TAG.

They don't practice the religion to what rules it should be practiced too, thus they are NOT following the Laws of the religion. This in my book means your NOT a muslim. Their simply known by NAME to be muslims...

Once again, there is nothing LEGALLY wrong with the construction of the Mosque. What is provocative is the morals behind the Mosque.

By your book, you mean in your opinion. Which, obviously, doesn't mean it's factual.

I, personally, am a Catholic. I go to Church every Sunday for an hour. There's alot of things I don't do that I should, or alot of things I do but shouldn't. But that doesn't mean I don't consider myself Catholic.

Anwyays, onto the point. I wonder if there is ONE family member who had a loved one die on that day that supports this idea.

As for whichever dumbass commented about banning us from Japan, we're not voting on if we should allow Muslims in America. We're voting on if they should build a symbol of their faith steps away from where thousands died because of that same faith. I'm afraid Hiroshima and Nagasaki got whiped out because of Pearl Harbor you dumbass. I don't recall America plotting a terrorist attack to bomb Japan for no reason other than we hated their race.

You're suggesting the US nuked two civilian cities as a plain retaliation for an attack on a military base? That's far worse than the actual story, so maybe you should stick to that instead.

Please stay on topic. It was because Japan wasn't going to surrender and a land invasion would have been 500k-1M causalities just to get off the beaches so it was (arguably) the necessary course of action.

I think it's funny that many of you morons think that all Muslims are responsible for 9/11.

    They aren't.

We Christians complain about freedom of religion all the time, and now that some Muslims want to build a Mosque somewhere important to our nation, you bitch.

    Shut up.

Read other posts please? The question isn't if they can build it, but why, and should they build it.

You're catholic, I'm muslim, each religion has it's own rules. In islam, you can't be a muslim yet not follow some of the rules of islam... So basically all you do is believe in your religion, and go to your church every sunday for an hour.
    In islam, you have to practice the religion of islam;
this includes praying 5 times a day at certain times. You can't be a muslim, but not pray 5 times a day.
for example, there are some things that are prohibited in the religion of islam, such as killing the innocent.

Hopefully you actually understand, and next time don't speak if you aren't sure.
