Do you think your race impacts your lifestyle ? For example I'm Caucasian and I usually am thought of irl as smart and clean. But I am smart and clean and Caucasian. So for example do people fall into stereotyping and believe that they have to be like the majority of the race is. Like a Mexican is usually thought of as dirty........... That's not the case all the time but most of times. So do people have a mindset of what they are going to do or be because of their skin color ?
Yes and trust me, white people are far from smart and clean. It's sad that these stereotypes go on but its life. I sometimes judge by race but who doesn't? To answer your question, I doubt people act the way they do because of their skin color. Thats like following a stereotype.
There is not such thing as a 'race'. Example: A white person in the USA has more rights than a mexican. A white person in Mexico has less rights than a mexican. That means that all race's are racist only if they are in their own country.
Some, but not all. Do I think I'm sometimes stereotyped? Perhaps. But people can tell what kind of person i am just by looking at for a few seconds.
I think you're a little confused. Whether or not there is such a thing as race (there is) has nothing to do with rights.
All comes down to generalization's and stero typing. Anyone of any race should be able to live a normal, happy safe life but that is not the case.
DUDE if your a mexican then you have less rights than a white american! if your talking about "race" then use the word "hispanic" mexicans are born in mexico therefore less rights in the U.S than a white person that was born in the U.S
Yes. There are people who will judge me on the color of my skin without even getting to know me first.
I wonder who thinks because your caucasian your smart I never heard that before. But I am black and people assume I can play basketball, run fast, ignorant ect. Which is funny cause I don't even play basketball but sterotyping has always been around and I don't see it going away anytime soon.
I'd imagine that people do live within stereotypes. I mean that's a self-conscious thing almost. If someone is going to stereotype you, should you really care what they have to think about the situation? Everyone makes assumptions, like it or not. It all depends on how deep you carry them. Some things can be from physical attributes (ethnicity, gender, etc.), lifestyle (friends, clothing, appearance, attitude, personalty), and so on.
