Yes and it's a lot more cheaper if you build it yourself.

I'm sorry to say that I think you've been ripped big time. Never buy computers, always try building your own, u can save about 35% of the money by building urself and for $1400, u shud of atleast gotten a 9800 video card. Even with the 9800 video card, the computer itself should be worth $1200 tops.

Also, before buying computers, compare prices! dont mind what company they are, doesnt have to be nice brand names because all companys use similar or same quality parts. a good website to buy computers + other modern technologies is www.newegg.com

Hope this helps you in your future when you buy computers :)

ATI has better support and software for their cards, imo. May not be as powerful but the new Radeon HD 6000 series cards will own Nvidia straight up the ass.

He can probably get a GTX 460 at least with $1400, forget about the 9800... I have a 9800GTX+ by eVGA and it's good enough, but I need a better CPU since it's bottle necking my GPU.

I think Nvidia is a better brand name in my opinion. Look at the GTX 260, those are pretty good for their price, and if you put two of them in SLI, they beat a single GTX 480. Also, ATI doesn't have PhysX and 3D Vision, the best they have is ATI Eyefinity. I think that ATI should go with AMD and Intel should go with Nvidia, that's just my opinion.

i'd say it's worth it, considering the fact that im running on a 5 year old laptop, that can only keep 2 bots going and can't really browse without some wait time.

i'd love to have a computer that good. who cares if you could have gotten it cheaper, the fact is you got a nice gaming rig. enjoy it while its still in its time :p
