    How times have changed!

Hello people as a fellow runescape player It's vastly shocking how times have changed. I started runescape when I was 9 years old early 2005 some argue possibly the highlight era of this game. Back then forums such as these weren't so popular. But in contrast to back then you would be lucky to find fully combat 126 for sale, it it sure wouldn't be below $650. The first account I purchased was late 2005 a combat lvl 92 main(90 mining) which cost me £140/$200 since then I've accomplished every 99 in the game except summoning and that new skill(don't have a clue what its called).

Nowadays I can skim through the 100-138 section and find atleast 3+ Maxed characters on the first pages I think this is definitely the indication of a fallen game. You can pick a Fully 126 for as cheap as $300 in some cases. Now think about the existence of this game in a couple of years time!

I officially quit runescape when they removed staking as it was the one thing that kept me coming back and the desire to get more money.

What are your thoughts on this?

You can't expect every game to last. Why do you think companies start working on new projects? The use of bots in RuneScape has increased ever dramatically, which is why high levels aren't valued as much anymore.

I don't think the increase in accounts for sale and cheaper accounts for sale is the indication the game is dying, I think it is more the economy is shit and the game is easier for noobs nowadays so accounts are easier to level in addition to this bots are way more accessible and relevant these days, increasing the amount of high level characters, I think the only games you'll find with a low number of maxed players are new games, and in 2005 rs2 was a fairly new game as classic had just recently vanished.

But what happens when you bot your maxed stats and make that 1 billion. It all ends there... this game has died that's why all these guys you see on black market with their 126/138's you see their smart and they know the game is ending! they know their accounts are going to be rendered useless. Once everyone bots it will soon be like silk road another failed game... :(

it's normal that prices drop if there are more players with maxed combat as than.

if ur the only one in the whole game who was 126, you could get 1000 Dollar.
if there where like 1000 players in the game selling 126 you could get less.
    thats normal.
    sorry for you :D

i totally understand you, i started playing lol when i was nine in 05:D
good times, tho this was a time of merching and poeple becomning rich, unfortuantely i missed this 1-2 yr oppurtunity because i was a noob that didnt know anything about runescape except a adamant battleaxe was my prized possesion.
but yes a lvl 126 was very rare.nowadays you can go to the ge and find at least 2-3 maxed players in the ge or sythe forums and i think this is due to how many people play runescape and you want to be better then the rest wich leads to poeple trying to max their characters to be better than the next guy.at least thats how i see it.

    sorry if i was confusing.

also im pree sure jagex is working on runescape 3

i don't think its dying because of that its only because the game is getting old and there are alot more players now, what lowers the game life is all the shit updates they make to try to stop the "cheaters" they only piss off all the legit players and of course the cheaters

The games economy is controlled by a few rich players who have played from the start, because of the cap, they can influence a majority of the games items, in an extremely unfair way.

Also because of pvp drops the new cash added into the wild is causing ridiculous amount of inflation, what 10m got you 2 years ago is about what 5m gets you today.

If Runescape 3 dosent revert back to old rs, the game will die

i dont believe the game is dieing just because maxed accounts are worth less in the real world nowadays, its because its easier/cheaper to make your own account and just bot the stats up and watch your character grow as with a maxed account you could just count how much money you have made..

Accounts are cheap due to their extreme lack of security. A maxed account would cost a lot more than $300 if there was a way to ensure a clean and safe exchange in which the original owner does not recover their character.
