[denied] Seperate market into retail/business [REVISED]

Seperate all markets (gold,accounts, services, etc...) into retail(regular users), and businesses (websites, discords, etc...).

How would it look?
Add 1 new section for business only for each market, where only business users could post, and all other sections remain open only for retail users. Businesses would no longer be allowed to advertise in regular sections.

How we determine a business?
Everyone that redirects to a website/discord server


Pros:
* The website would look more "alive" instead of seeing the same identical topics being bumped over and over where any new users disappears into the void.
*Encourages more trading on sythe, instead of just going to whatever website/discord that is being advertised
*Regular users don't have to compete with 50 businesses autobumping every hour
*Stores don't have to post same thread in 10 sections, and fix every single one whenever a mod decides something is wrong
Cons:
*a little extra work for staff
*more scams(because more retail traffic, as if that's a bad thing)


And before all brokies start crying about losing traffic due to not being able to spam every single section, I'm quite sure the idea behind sythe was for retail users to find eachother, not for 342423 businesses to to just refresh their topics and push retail out of the market entirely(which is what's killing this site). If there's no retail left on sythe, y'all end up advertising to each other (everyone that bought ad space here knows this is already the case)

 

*Easier for normies to scam

I can see a big spike of reports if this is implemented.

IMO: It would be beneficial to have Account Categories locked behind a certain number of vouches or a minimum duration of time on Sythe, similar to the requirements for obtaining Infernal capes. Since most of "normies" account selling are a scam.

 

This isn't aimed to reduce scams, but rather for ease of use for both veterans and newcomers. The only way to stop scams is to shut down sythe entirely.
Almost any suggestion that makes it easier for "newcomers" to trade can be said to increase amount of scams, but sythe goal should be to increase users not worry about morons getting scammed

 

Accounts are a bit different, since even if they use a middleman, they can get scammed at the end of the day

 

As I said, this doesn't change anything in that regard. Giving IQ points to people is impossible, make a platform easier to use is

 

I support the decision if we have some strong requirements for a 'business ' account ex Id verification + possible security deposits to sythe etc. The fact that the site has no option to provide extra accountability for yourself is quite grim.

To be completely honest, I don’t see the real need for this to be implemented as I’ve found navigating the sales forum to be fine as it currently is.

However, under your listed “Pros” you mentioned several times how the implementation would make it easier to buy from “trusted” users compared to “normies”, indicating that it would serve to help reduce scams, which frankly as Kayne pointed out wouldn’t happen. Anyone can scam, whether it be someone with 1000 vouches or without a single one. The only difference simply is integrity, authenticity, and that the more vouches a person has, has more to lose.

However, I would like to point out something. I think Leptin’s suggestion of implementing some kind of security deposit to Sythe or another alternative method of providing extra accountability is an area that should be explored more, as I could see it really benefiting the community in the trading department.

This is purely just something that came across me upon reading Leptin’s suggestion. So I am well aware that there will be numerous issues with this suggestion, but what if there was a flat % of total earnings that need to be given before a trade is done. For example, say that seller A wants to sell an account thats deemed roughly $1500-$2000 and has found a buyer that is willing to pay the full $2000. But before the trade is even allowed to go through, the seller has to deposit either 25% 50% 75% 100% of the total amount which will be dependent on several factors such as, the amount being traded, individual’s community standing, vouches, duration of time on Sythe, etc.
Middleman services or a new mod role could be implemented to oversee that the seller has in fact put in the safety deposit.
I think this would help tackle the issue of scams by making people less incentivized to do so, knowing that they will be penalized.

This has been discussed 100 times every year and is neither possible or works as you'd expect, as this system has already been adopted by most discords/facebook groups and it didn't work for either of them, because anyone above 60IQ can allign several trades at the same time that is bigger than their deposit (and it gives false sense of trust, which makes scams even more likely)

No support. Businesses would just reply to those topics and be like 'inbox me/come to my website/add me on discord/open a ticket', etc.

It would become just as spammed. Businesses and highly vouched individuals would reply to the newcomer's threads in this way.

As a free market you could not forbid the businesses from jumping in and doing this. Even if such a rule was made, It would be impossible to measure and distinguish who is a business and who isn't

 

I honestly think the only point opposing this could be market confusion which is a big thing, but it can be solved, and all other arguments are covered in the topic. (As, i said this suggestion is not about trust, or preventing scams in any way, but about market being more accessible to retail traders and attracting more of them).

And the whole meaning of "business" is, a person that advertises his own platform (a website, discord server, or anything else that isn't direct contact with the user)


I understand this sounds super confusing at first, but i'd love to hear if anyone else has ideas to achieve something similar with less confusion, as right now you can open any market section, and the whole front page will be only big businesses, where a regular user has close to no chance to be seen

 

I see where you’re coming from and it’s a good idea but I don’t think there’s enough activity to add this suggestion in. Most sections only go back to like page 3 and that’s when the threads start to get older. When I’m account buying I’m searching every thread business or not and it’s easy because there’s not that many threads. I think if a newcomers post is not being seen it’s because they posted once and just left it. They need to remember to bump at least once a day. Good suggestion nonetheless but not necessary imo.

 

Most if not all of the people here not supporting are biased because they are spamming threads 24/7 for post count.

I support this idea, it’s basically what I wanted to say on my last suggestion except you did it better.

As I said in that thread, it gives casual buyers and sellers a chance to at least have their thread viewed more than 3 times before having it disappear to 5th page.

As a side note: a week ago I contacted 6 people on the 1st page who had bumped their thread in the last 5 minutes. None of them had supply or answered at all. And no I’m not going to report their posts but this should tell you a lot about the current market.. lol

Whether an individual or a "company" is selling a service, that's the same for the client.
