Tinychat

The whole Tinychat issue is well out of hand by now and nothing is getting done. This is partially my fault and I'm sorry. There is a war going between the staff and the members and something needs to be done to cool it.

So, members. What is it that you want, what do you feel, and why do you feel it? Do you have any suggestions that might help the situation?

This is not a debate thread and there shouldn't be arguing. This is feedback, for the staff, so that they know what the members thoughts, feelings and ideas are in a non-dramatic way so that they can come to the best decision.

Lets just get rid of Tinychat all together.

 

Change the chat channel from sytheofficial to something else, let the power shift from banned members who pissed off the admins/mods to someone who also frequented the channel but is not banned.

Seems like a pretty simple fix, and would keep the "riffraff" out.

Don't allow the discussion/advertising of Tinychat in any forum, and only keep the advertising limited in your signature.

 

Let the channel be?

I invite staff to create another channel. It'll die as the previous ones have. Nobody wants to be in a channel watched like a hawk. It's uncomfortable.

 

I can agree that I'd like to see this happen. Good suggestion in theory, I could personally settle on this if it is agreed on and the ones in power are actually responsible

The point is, we should be free to post tinychat shit, and the mods have gone too far

How have we gone too far? We're doing what we think is safe for the forum, and last time I checked, this is an oligarchy, not a democracy

 

I have no idea who these users are, but why don't they just moderate it within Tinychat's rules than?

Sure keep out anything related to sythe completely, aka don't even bring sythe up in the channel. Use it as a place to talk about real life and other various things that the users like to discuss; however do not allow anyone to bring up Sythe's members/doings. If Sythe can't control what happens on tinychat, don't let tinychat have anything to do with Sythe.

Tinychat requires that all users, broadcasters and chat participants only produce broadcasts and messages that are suitable for mainstream audiences and that are not generally considered objectionable or offensive.

 

The staff feel that it is necessary to protect the users who are vulnerable to whatever they believe happens inside the tinychat.

But to what justin said it is uncomfortable to be watched "like a hawk".

I like to go in there and be able to speak freely without a Sythe staff member loosing some respect for me for making fun of someone, trolling someone, or doing stuff that is actually fun.

Think about it...could we have played simon says with a staff member in there? I think not.

But I have another suggestion: Why don't we just get rid of the current ops that are banned here on Sythe? Would that solve part of the problem?

 

We're going to ban Syed from his own Tinychat? That won't solve the problem. If we do that we'd be splitting them up again. And it will turn back into the situation we have right now.

E.g. If syed and brandon go then all of their friends will most likely follow (banned or not).

Personally I know that I will not stop talking to Brandon because he has a vendetta against Finn. If a friend in real life went and robbed someone I'm not going to stop talking to them because they've done something viewed as publicly wrong. A friend is my friend until they do something to me personally or someone close to me.

I do agree with your approach of stupidity having any validity whether the idea would work or not, yeah they are members from sythe; So what? Can they not discuss something that isn't related to sythe? Do they have nothing to talk about other than doings that involve sythe? Really? I see tons of tinychat and stickams filled with people talking about all sorts of things. These people have to bring up Sythe? Sure their names in the channel could be sythe related, but don't explicitly talk about it.

So basically staff is trying to help you guys out by not becoming involved with those kinds of things and that's such a terrible thing.
